Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Danubio Jardin saw a crowd turnout of 12000. Leonardo Bissola was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Pedram Vahidi and Rasheed Ibn-Amal. A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Danubio. The wings were the focus of most of Piriz's attacks today. 6 minutes into the game, S. Leimser was a hair's breadth away from giving Piriz the lead with a shot from over on the left. A prompt block by F. Ortiz saved the home team that time. Piriz took the lead after 18 minutes making the score 0 - 1. S. Didden placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. 22 minutes into the game, C. Hetzel had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came C. Tannat. After 23 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed F. Mestrallet to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 2. The Piriz free kick 32 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of M. Straconi, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 0 - 3! With 37 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience, A. Oyarbide needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. A penalty was awarded after 39 minutes, and A. Rukke made the most of his chance to put Piriz up by another goal. 0 - 4 for the visitors. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Piriz lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. 0 - 4 was the halftime score. Piriz enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 80 percent of possession.

With the scoreboard showing that 47 minutes had been played, Piriz nearly put themselves up another goal after S. Leimser came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. With 52 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed F. Mestrallet of Piriz to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 5. A drive down the left side allowed M. Straconi to get in close and score another goal for Piriz after 59 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 6. A scuffle developed as players from both sides clashed following a tussle in the centre of the field 60 minutes into the match. After regaining order and consulting his linesman, the referee called Piriz's A. Rukke to one side and produced a red card for the player. Attacking on the wings was the choice for Piriz, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. Piriz increased their lead after 70 minutes when F. Seiderer broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 7, much to the home crowd's dismay. 73 minutes in, Danubio's R. Bertullo received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. A loud groan was heard from the fans of Piriz, as Z. Gómez left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. J. Brasiler took his place on the field. Players in Piriz heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead. The home crowd was not impressed when F. Mestrallet came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 75 minutes. Piriz were now up 0 - 8. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for F. Mestrallet. Piriz claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 80 percent.

C. Tannat performed admirably for Danubio. M. Petingi was a disappointment, however. Piriz's best player was S. Leimser. On the other hand, J. Brasiler's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 8.
