(380544292)

14-07-2012 07.00
30365 spectators had found their way to
宾阳中学足球场, despite the heavy rain.
Herwig Schuler was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Juhani Niskavaara and
Stefan Zetterman.
Reventon tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Starters: 博 (Bo) - Valente, Bastía, 其靖 (Qijing) - Parushev, Tamagnini, Belderok, Gramsci, Frye - Ehrenkrook, Ruebens.
Shanxi had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
The following players took the field: 弘生 (Hongsheng) - 帝贤 (Dixian) , Kunda, Lee, 茨君 (Cijun) - 剑凯 (Jiankai) , 达雄 (Daxiong) , 福山 (Fushan) , 力天 (Litian) - 平潮 (Pingchao) , Dari.
The wings were the focus of most of Reventon's attacks today.
With 4 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 1 - 0 lead as
G. Ruebens flipped the ball in after a cross from the right.
Reventon were given a gift! The ref dubiously awarded them a penalty 12 minutes into the match, which was neatly put away by
J. Ehrenkrook. 2 - 0 for the home side.
B. Frye, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass.
After 19 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
A. Belderok might have resulted in another goal for Reventon. However,
胡. 弘生 (Hongsheng) made a spectacular save.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Reventon's
F. Tamagnini increasing the lead to 3 - 0.
Halftime score was 3 - 0.
Reventon had most of the ball, with 79 percent of possession.
Content with how the game was proceeding, the Reventon coach let
邢. 丹健 (Danjian) replace
苏. 博 (Bo) after 46 minutes.
It was obvious that Reventon had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle.
Coming from the right,
J. Ehrenkrook almost managed to score another goal for Reventon, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper.
With 71 minutes played, Reventon put themselves up 4 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
H. Valente, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
Reventon had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Reventon to 5 - 0 as
J. Ehrenkrook finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
By now, the players in Reventon felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as Reventon scored another to make it 6 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
P. Gramsci after 74 minutes.
Given a free kick close to the byline, Reventon tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
B. Frye slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 7 - 0, 84 minutes into the game.
Reventon claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 79 percent.
O. Parushev performed admirably for Reventon.
G. Ruebens turned in a dismal performance, however.
The most dominating Shanxi player was without a doubt
J. Dari.
胡. 弘生 (Hongsheng) on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 7 - 0.
