previous 7/10 next 9/10  Viola 5 - 0 Kermit (381666908)

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Olympia Stadium saw a crowd turnout of 48369. Moritz Flamming was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Thomas Sommar and Agris Cipe. Viola tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination. The following players took the field: Buffon - Aversano, Blardone - Sani, Mandragallo, Pestarino, Marta, Prudenze - Maranga, Ienco, Perra.

A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Kermit. Starters: Tâlmaciu - Balzani, Derepa, Knehr - Capponi, Inclimona, Sukanen, Leben - Pupi, Momentè, Buringa.

S. Maranga gave Viola the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 1 - 0 Things were going to get worse for the visitors. S. Maranga squirmed through their central defence after 24 minutes, increasing the lead to 2 - 0. A great save by keeper C. Tâlmaciu after 29 minutes kept the visitors in the game after D. Marta struck from the left with a real cannonball. Viola solidified their lead at the 34 minute mark, as W. Sani dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0. After this, you could see that the players of Viola were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. Halftime score was 3 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Viola, with 73 percent of the ball.

The home side's S. Maranga came close to extending the lead 52 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but C. Tâlmaciu managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. G. Perra could have increased the lead after 64 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Viola increased the lead as A. Prudenze struck to make the score 4 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. Viola's G. Perra increased the lead to 5 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 74 minutes. Viola enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 74 percent of possession.

Most important Viola player was G. Perra. However, W. Sani made a disastrous appearance. Kermit's top performer was clearly J. Sukanen. C. Tâlmaciu turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 5 - 0.
