28554 punters turned up at
Newtheatre, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Chanchi Bayón Mohíno was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Stelvio Motterle and
Cosmin Nica.
Everyone was excited about the upcoming
Roma derby and the crowd was divided evenly.
S.Giorgio decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
They fielded: Iacoviello - Oppio, Buonfantino, Zagari - Catandil, Piana, Iaselli, Fiore, Monje - Chiarenza, Aymie.
FRYZZIES started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
Lineup: Nikčević - Gales, Gorgoji, Marttonen - Hollanda, Jubero, Balenciaga, Bocão, Steingruber - Canelas, Leperlier.
After a fine move down the middle
L. Chiarenza nearly gave the home side a goal after 10 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide.
A. Iacoviello looked great 26 minutes into the match after stopping a shot from the middle of the penalty area from the visitors'
M. Steingruber.
A questionable penalty 31 minutes in gave the home side the lead, 1 - 0. The visitors' goalie didn't stand a chance as
S. Iaselli knocked the ball home.
Against a lesser team, FRYZZIES could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 38 minutes. A trio of passes took the ball all the way past the defenders, but by then the intended recipient was already blocked off and the keeper could make a leisurely save.
R. Hangurbadžo was called on to replace FRYZZIES's
J. Leperlier after 43 minutes following a nasty collision.
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0.
FRYZZIES enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.
The coach of S.Giorgio was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 48 minutes,
D. Petrucci came on for
D. Fiore.
P. Zagari had a fantastic opportunity to put S.Giorgio up another goal 55 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar.
After 60 minutes, S.Giorgio's
E. Aymie surprised everyone as he managed to intercept a pass intended for the opposing keeper and flip it in, making the score 2 - 0.
S.Giorgio solidified their lead at the 65 minute mark, as
S. Iaselli dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0.
The referee showed FRYZZIES's
R. Hollanda the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
P. Zagari's knee will be throbbing for days, but thankfully for S.Giorgio, he bravely continued in the match.
N. Gorgoji could've grabbed a goal for FRYZZIES 68 minutes in when he got a pass from the left putting him free of the home side's defence, but he was unable to take advantage of the situation.
FRYZZIES had a fair chance to reply after 79 minutes due to some fine moves down the left, but in the end
R. Hangurbadžo was slow to keep up with the play and was unable to make it into the penalty box to apply a finish.
V. Buonfantino of S.Giorgio received a yellow card after 81 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
Possession in this half belonged to FRYZZIES, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.
The most dominating S.Giorgio player was without a doubt
L. Chiarenza.
V. Buonfantino on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Most important FRYZZIES player was
A. Bocão.
However,
R. Hollanda made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 3 - 0.
