Vasile broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to Morellik. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Morellik lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. 2 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Morellik, with 58 percent of the ball.

GALACTICOS70 were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings. Morellik's U. Valbonetti had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 79 minutes having been played. A. Miszczuk was the replacement.
