Dark skies made the crowd of 13384 at Roberto Baggio a little nervous, but the rain held off. Wojciech Rywin was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Marco Tonzar and José Bessa. Lux85 had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Kujamäki - Micelli, Chammartin, Nørholt - Bollar, Amori, Maës, Göttsche, Galante - Trangoni, Valkhof.

Santarrosalia decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players took the field: Alesi - Petaros, Carltorp, Fechete - Hienz, Woelfl, Reif, Gheza, Cervellone - Bellezza, Cerdeño.

It was an obvious ambition of Lux85 to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. A. Woelfl was in the clear after breaking the offside trap following a Santarrosalia counterattack from the left after 16 minutes. His neat finish made the score 0 - 1. The referee showed Santarrosalia's M. Fechete the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Lux85's E. Trangoni went down after a savage challenge, but could continue playing after some medical attention. Attacking on the wings was the choice for Lux85, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. No matter how hard he tried, T. Göttsche just couldn't get his shot past the visitors' right side defence after 20 minutes. M. Fechete was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, Santarrosalia's A. Gheza managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 0 - 2 Lux85's N. Valkhof cut towards the middle after 24 minutes, receiving a brilliant pass and slicing through the visiting team's central defence, reducing the lead to 1 - 2. An accurate cross from R. Galante of Lux85 was met with a wonderful glancing header from N. Valkhof, hitting the inside base of the post before nestling into the back of the net for 2 - 2. The guests took the lead 34 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in H. Carltorp scoring to make it 2 - 3. Halftime score was 2 - 3. Lux85 enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.

With 47 minutes having been played, Lux85 scored to make it 3 - 3. A dribble down the left wing, followed by a shot which took a wicked bounce off a defender resulted in the keeper having no chance. Everyone thought it'd been an own goal, but E. Trangoni was marked down as the scorer. 3 - 4 was the score with 61 minutes played, after T. Cerdeño cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Santarrosalia. A foul 81 minutes into the game resulted in a free kick for Lux85. M. Chammartin took advantage as he curled the equalising goal into the top corner, just out of the reach of the keeper. 4 - 4. Santarrosalia's A. Woelfl got himself booked for a foul. Santarrosalia's T. Cerdeño gave the visitors a 4 - 5 lead after 87 minutes with a superb strike from the right. Santarrosalia almost scored after a swift counterattack 89 minutes into the game, but T. Cerdeño put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal. Lux85's J. Bollar put his head to a high ball coming in from the right after 89 minutes, but the ball went wide. Lux85 had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.

Most important Lux85 player was J. Bollar. M. Micelli turned in a dismal performance, however. A. Bellezza performed admirably for Santarrosalia. On the other hand, P. Petaros's play was disheartening. The match ends 4 - 5.
