(381960216)

14-07-2012 12.50
Clear skies welcomed the 14654 spectators who had made their way to
Nuovo Campo Testaccio.
Franco Hellenbrand was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Frank Hansson and
Konrád Marton.
Ponteferro had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
They fielded: Alves Magalhães - Goszczyński, Brenneisen, Urbina Melgarejo - Živanović, Aştilean, Herrera, Gallo, Santamaría - Rumignacco, Tharaldsen.
sscnapoli decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
The following players took the field: do Casar - Sitzia, Barla, Cereda - Ndiaye, Atalaia, Turci, Kalkman, Ruttens - Palumbo, Denicolo.
Ponteferro took a creative approach on the field.
sscnapoli were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks.
4 minutes into the match, Ponteferro's
A. Rumignacco demonstrated his famed speed as he raced past his marker and passed the ball to
R. Tharaldsen who chipped it in for 1 - 0.
Ponteferro solidified their lead at the 8 minute mark, as
R. Herrera dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 2 - 0.
Confident in their lead, Ponteferro's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
Ater 12 minutes
S. Sitzia seized on an opportunistic attack from the right, and scored for sscnapoli making it 2 - 1.
After 25 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by Ponteferro was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options.
After a short break after 26 minutes, Ponteferro seemed to change their tactical approach a bit.
sscnapoli will have to do without
A. Cereda for a time, due to a bad foot injury at the 32 minute mark. He was substituted by
A. Casciotti.
After 35 minutes, the Ponteferro players received new instructions from their manager on how to keep in control of the game.
Halftime score was 2 - 1.
Ponteferro had most of the ball, with 51 percent of possession.
G. Denicolo's lightning pace was too much for
V. Urbina Melgarejo who could only look on as the sscnapoli player blasted one home. 2 - 2.
S. Sitzia of sscnapoli received a yellow card after 63 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
A. Rumignacco would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
L. Bellina entered the game for Ponteferro as the match clock showed 72 minutes.
They were singing the praises of
N. Aştilean 85 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 3 - 2 to Ponteferro.
L. Bellina should probably have put his team up another goal after 86 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
C. do Casar kept the visitors in the game.
With 87 minutes played,
G. Atalaia came in from the right and could have evened the score, but the defenders successfully repelled the attack by sscnapoli.
Ponteferro enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.
Ponteferro's top performer was clearly
R. Tharaldsen.
However,
R. Živanović made a disastrous appearance.
A. Turci performed admirably for sscnapoli.
G. Kalkman was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 3 - 2.
