previous 2/10 next 4/10  montgat 4 - 4 Snack (383143173)

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 11890 to montgat Arena. Agustin Rojo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Knud Kläsener and Oskar Broendsted. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for montgat. The following players took the field: Tapia D'Avila - Botero, Oskarsson, Kessler - Cerjo, Coche, Tiktak, Bajna, Ramírez - Buendía, Ferragut.

Snack tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Lineup: Cannonier - Roomer, Martínez, Mosgraber - Taronjí, Poryazov, Castellsir, Varona, Valdés - Duatti, Verslype.

montgat clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. The wings were the focus of most of Snack's attacks today. montgat created a good opportunity to score 20 minutes into the match when S. Tiktak's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. Snack's E. Varona had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 21 minutes having been played. N. Peaguda was the replacement. montgat players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. montgat took the lead 24 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as J. Coche elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. The referee showed montgat's Z. Bajna the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The crowd was silenced 35 minutes into the match as the visiting team's G. Verslype came in from the left, levelling the score to 1 - 1. Halftime score was 1 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to montgat, who controlled the ball 65 percent of the time.

U. Valdés's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 49 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a delightful through ball to G. Duatti who knocked it in for Snack. 1 - 2! 55 minutes in, montgat's T. Oskarsson received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. H. Cannonier was the unlucky victim and couldn't continue the game, so Snack's L. da Rocha had to come off the bench. U. Valdés wanted to play on, but the Snack coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 64 minutes into the game by D. Mejía. D. Mejía became the new Snack captain. Against a lesser team, Snack could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 65 minutes. A trio of passes took the ball all the way past the defenders, but by then the intended recipient was already blocked off and the keeper could make a leisurely save. L. Ferragut showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 74 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 2 - 2 equaliser away. J. Coche of montgat was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. After some beautiful movement down the left wing, L. Ferragut scored for montgat putting them ahead 3 - 2, after 80 minutes. It was obvious that Snack had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. N. Poryazov finished off a quick charge from the left of the field by chipping the ball just past the home side's keeper, making the score 3 - 3 84 minutes into the match. Snack's G. Duatti was shown a yellow card after 85 minutes for slicing down an opponent. L. Ramírez's early cross saw the defenders caught out of position and the alert L. Ferragut was able to pounce and roll the ball past the hapless goalkeeper to score for montgat. 4 - 3. This third goal completed a hattrick for L. Ferragut. 89 minutes into the match the visitors levelled the score at 4 - 4 as N. Peaguda struck home from a rebound off the crossbar, following a shot from the right. N. Poryazov of Snack received a yellow card after 89 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. montgat had most of the ball, with 68 percent of possession.

montgat's best player was T. Oskarsson. L. Ramírez turned in a dismal performance, however. Snack's top performer was clearly G. Verslype. L. da Rocha on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 4 - 4.
