It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 50800 that came out to Opoj Stars Maracana. Colin Knöpfli was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Kenn Ingerslev and André Glistrup. Stars mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. Stars were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to G. Schriber, but the Stars player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! A. Renom tied the game at 1 - 1 after 32 minutes, when he converted an incredible pass from the right. N. Brokmose's speed was clear to see after 32 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released F. Bindohf-Brauchschild who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 2 - 1. G. Schriber could have increased the lead after 33 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Stars's F. Jezuit got himself booked for a foul. Stars's A. Gaustad swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. The sun seemed to put V. Balsinger in a great mood, and he showed off his technical skills all match long. Halftime score was 2 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Stars, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.

With 52 minutes played, M. Wolbers came in from the right and could have evened the score, but the defenders successfully repelled the attack by MFK. After 60 minutes, MFK switched V. Kaitainen with M. Nagelschmidt, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. A cross coming in on the right hand side left M. Olšovský alone in front of the goal after 66 minutes but his shot was woeful. With 69 minutes played, Stars put themselves up 3 - 1 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to N. Brokmose, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. The Stars coach was visibly pleased with the score so far, but still ordered a few tactical changes 69 minutes into the game. The bench was restless, and with 70 minutes passed MFK's coach gave Z. Fabišík the opportunity the player had been hoping for. V. Ramboa reluctantly left the field. Neither team were able to dominate possession this half.

F. Bindohf-Brauchschild performed admirably for Stars. However, F. Jezuit made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating MFK player was without a doubt M. Stasiński. E. Kanis turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 1.
