23-06-2012 16.00
39380 spectators had found their way to
Flemming Utd Arena, despite the heavy rain.
Walter Dorotheen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
İlham Sözen and
Per Knutsson.
Flemming started off with a 3-4-3 lineup.
The following players took the field: Dereymaeker - Rensen, Toplak, Ritter - Pacławski, Tustervatn, Botten, Bering - Pachev, Avonds, Gregoš.
Frognerparken tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Lineup: Arista - Pizzolante, Godanca, Pallier - Petit, Ciołkosz, Natária, Puşcaş, Gabrielsen - Neshov, Różewski.
The rain made it hard for players like
F. Toplak to show their technical control of the ball on this soggy day.
After 26 minutes of play,
P. Pachev gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right.
With 29 minutes played,
N. Bering of Flemming fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
After 32 minutes, the visitors tied it up at 1 - 1 when a fantastic pass from the left was finished off by
L. Puşcaş.
M. Gabrielsen of Frognerparken was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
T. Pacławski slipped and slithered in the wet grass. His usual rapid runs were nowhere to be seen today.
R. Gregoš caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 37 minutes. This gave Flemming the 2 - 1 lead.
K. Dereymaeker's name was chanted throughout the stadium after he made a fantastic save from
L. Puşcaş's shot from the left 38 minutes into the match.
Halftime score was 2 - 1.
Flemming enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.
48 minutes into the game Frognerparken's
R. Petit found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 2 - 2.
Given a free kick in a difficult position after 59 minutes, Frognerparken tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish.
Flemming's
P. Pachev showed his experience, anticipating the outcome of the opponent's defensive clearance and positioning himself perfectly to volley in an unstoppable shot from the edge of the box. 3 - 2.
Frognerparken had a chance to level the score as
R. Neshov suddenly found himself free in the middle of the box with only the keeper to beat, but he misjudged the finish, and only managed to hit the bar.
P. Pachev had a fantastic opportunity to put Flemming up another goal 67 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
D. Pallier from Frognerparken a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 72 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Flemming were forced into a substitution as
F. Toplak couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing
K. Castro to come in off the bench.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Flemming, with 52 percent of the ball.
Flemming's top performer was clearly
R. Gregoš.
On the other hand,
P. Ritter's play was disheartening.
Frognerparken's best player was
P. Natária.
However,
D. Pallier made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 3 - 2.
