previous 2/4 next 4/4  Gbasa 7 - 0 Kølla-FC (384137428)

A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 28901 to Lille Anfield. Harmen Idema was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Roland Sonneberg and Bernd-Udo Bödör. Gbasa tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Starters: Kaasin - Çömlekçi, Eriksen, Güntöre - Santelmann, Jørgensen, Eisemann, Pinau, Wanvik - Sumarliðason, Lehtosaari.

Kølla-FC decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. The following players took the field: Hagenes - Hodne, Sandanger, Jordet, Haugland - Kristoffersen, Fagerland, Lie, Opdal - Hætta, Åbotsvik.

L. Hodne's technique was perfect on this sunny day and led to some breathtaking tricks that bamboozled the defence. Gbasa took the lead 19 minutes in, as D. Eisemann broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. A scuffle developed as players from both sides clashed following a tussle in the centre of the field 21 minutes into the match. After regaining order and consulting his linesman, the referee called Kølla-FC's P. Haugland to one side and produced a red card for the player. Gbasa's K. Sumarliðason increased the lead to 2 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 33 minutes. After this, you could see that the players of Gbasa were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. A great save by keeper K. Hagenes after 35 minutes kept the visitors in the game after K. Sumarliðason struck from the left with a real cannonball. With 36 minutes played, O. Jordet of Kølla-FC fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Given a free kick close to the byline, Gbasa tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let F. Santelmann slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 3 - 0, 37 minutes into the game. The Gbasa free kick 40 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of C. Çömlekçi, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 4 - 0! 4 - 0 was the score after the first half. Gbasa had most of the ball, with 89 percent of possession.

The coach of Gbasa was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 50 minutes, J. Butryn came on for L. Pinau. J. Wanvik left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 50 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. Ø. Solheim was the replacement. The referee showed Gbasa's K. Sumarliðason the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Kølla-FC's E. Sandanger went down after a savage challenge, but could continue playing after some medical attention. With 57 minutes played, Gbasa's K. Sumarliðason almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. The sunny day didn't make things easy for J. Butryn who didn't seem his usual powerful self on the pitch. Cheers filled the stadium as J. Butryn broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 5 - 0 to Gbasa. Gbasa's F. Santelmann swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. C. Çömlekçi squirmed through their central defence after 74 minutes, increasing the lead to 6 - 0. T. Güntöre found it hard to catch his breath today in the stifling heat. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Gbasa to 7 - 0 as C. Çömlekçi finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for C. Çömlekçi. S. Lie of Kølla-FC was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Gbasa enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 90 percent of possession.

J. Lehtosaari performed admirably for Gbasa. T. Güntöre on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Kølla-FC player was without a doubt O. Jordet. K. Hagenes was a disappointment, however. The match ends 7 - 0.
