Tritonus 2 - 3 FCG
(384353072)

04-08-2012 18.00
Dark skies made the crowd of 25726 at
Dissonanz-Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Thomas Sonntag was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Guillermo Sales and
Nándor Kakuszi.
Tritonus started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Lombriga - Tello Ortiz, Huynh, Miel - Hackl-Schoerg, Flachsbinder, Anaut, Jensen, Eteghadi - Salvesen, Vilallonga.
FCG had chosen a strategic 5-4-1 formation.
They fielded: Hassan - Menéndez, Inclimona, Rolff, De Capoa, Mümmelmann - Karlsruh, Kaatz, Schwanhofen, Canabarro - Frühbeis.
The wings were the focus of most of Tritonus's attacks today.
It was obvious that Tritonus had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle.
Tritonus took the lead after 23 minutes as a result of
K. Salvesen's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0.
The visitors refused to give in and, after 25 minutes,
L. De Capoa evened things up as he finished off a perfect pass from the right. 1 - 1
After 26 minutes,
W. Frühbeis sent the corner kick right to
P. Rolff who headed it sharply past the keeper. 1 - 2!
The home crowd was not impressed when
E. Karlsruh came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 28 minutes. FCG were now up 1 - 3.
W. Frühbeis was, after 29 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper
S. Lombriga made the save.
32 minutes in, FCG's
A. Mümmelmann received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
1 - 3 was the score after the first half.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Tritonus, with 51 percent of the ball.
E. Karlsruh tried using a burst of speed to get past his defender after 63 minutes, but it takes more than that to get past fast
B. Miel.
The home crowd were delighted when
P. Flachsbinder scored with a header after an attack from the right, making the score 2 - 3. But did he use his hand? That'll be one for the pundits to talk about after the game, that's for sure!
Tritonus were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings.
After 66 minutes,
K. Salvesen got through on the right and was very close to equalising for the home side, but didn't get the shot away.
The Tritonus coach was desperate to reverse his team's fortunes in the game, and ordered his team to change strategy.
FCG claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.
Tritonus's top performer was clearly
K. Salvesen.
K. Huynh on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The most dominating FCG player was without a doubt
I. Hassan.
However,
L. De Capoa made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 2 - 3.
