MoesTaverne 3 - 2 DOGMA (384897639)

The crowd of 30343 turning up at Atomkraftwerk today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Jelle Dugoin was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Thorsten Gogl and Per Dahl. MoesTaverne decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Starters: Schöngau - Karnick, Fleury, Janković - Fochi, Damann, Pallas, Greue, Hennessey - Ortíz, Pantović.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for DOGMA. They fielded: Onciul - Sarubbi, Atsalopoulos, van Bergen - Chamoso, Pritchard, René, Rouckert, Mårtensson - Irusta, Vučić.

Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 30 minutes, DOGMA did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, N. René was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 0 - 1. With a shot curled in from just outside the middle of the penalty area after 34 minutes played, E. Fochi of MoesTaverne made the score 1 - 1. C. Karnick didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to D. Janković, but the MoesTaverne player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 2 - 1! 41 minutes into the match MoesTaverne's E. Fochi head butted an opponent nastily, and so the referee sent him off immediately. MoesTaverne's C. Karnick saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 42 minutes. DOGMA's counterattacks created a good chance for T. Atsalopoulos on the right after 43 minutes, but he could only look on with dismay as his strike rebounded off the crossbar. MoesTaverne increased the lead as N. Pallas struck to make the score 3 - 1 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. It was 3 - 1 at the break. MoesTaverne had most of the ball, with 57 percent of possession.

M. Pantović's curling free kick almost found the goal for MoesTaverne, but the visitors' keeper somehow managed to get ahold of it. The bench was restless, and with 57 minutes passed DOGMA's coach gave M. Zacho the opportunity the player had been hoping for. R. van Bergen reluctantly left the field. E. Damann of MoesTaverne was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. A. Irusta was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn't move the ball around with his usual grace. With 65 minutes played, MoesTaverne's N. Pallas almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. A. Greue could have increased the lead after 66 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. DOGMA needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 70 minutes N. René made way for M. Prakopas. After 75 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by N. Pallas might have resulted in another goal for MoesTaverne. However, T. Onciul made a spectacular save. The visitors replied 76 minutes into the game, reducing the home side's lead to 3 - 2, as A. Irusta dashed up the middle, easily lobbing the ball over the home team's keeper. MoesTaverne's M. Ortíz swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. MoesTaverne enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.

MoesTaverne's top performer was clearly M. Pantović. M. Fleury turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating DOGMA player was without a doubt J. Sarubbi. On the other hand, M. Prakopas's play was disheartening. The match ends 3 - 2.
