The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 50982 had shown up at LE STADE DE FARGNIERS for the match. David Lisboa was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Víctor Colón and Marcel Mettler. ESCT decided to use a 3-4-3 set up. ESCT took the lead 11 minutes in, as M. Racine broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. Coming through the middle J. Pierron almost scored the equaliser for ASOAMA after 16 minutes, but V. Loiseau made an excellent save, tipping the awkwardly curled shot past the post. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. F. Martin squirmed through their central defence after 32 minutes, increasing the lead to 2 - 0. Ater 34 minutes F. Mandon seized on an opportunistic attack from the right, and scored for ASOAMA making it 2 - 1. It was 2 - 1 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by ASOAMA, with 55 percent of the ball.

V. Loiseau's name was chanted throughout the stadium after he made a fantastic save from F. Mandon's shot from the left 73 minutes into the match. ASOAMA's A. Hérault was shown a yellow card after 78 minutes for slicing down an opponent. With 79 minutes played, ESCT's S. Dutheil almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. K. Boucard was caught napping as M. Racine lifted a ball over him following a free kick, but the ball hit the bar, rebounding into the keeper's arms. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave F. Martin from ESCT a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 89 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Possession in this half belonged to ASOAMA, who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.

Most important ESCT player was M. Racine. Y. Plancq turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating ASOAMA player was without a doubt M. Braun. On the other hand, A. Hérault's play was disheartening. The match ends 2 - 1.
