Clear skies welcomed the 20000 spectators who had made their way to Chubudaire Arena. For their match strategy, chubudaire had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. The wings were the focus of most of RLU's attacks today. The home crowd breathed a collective sigh of relief when K. Vieira was unable to put the ball in the net after his show of skill down the left 11 minutes into the match. He was seen beating the pitch in frustration at missing such a good chance to give his team the lead! After 12 minutes, the defensive line of chubudaire created a counterattack through the middle that gave L. Akkerdaas a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. chubudaire had a chance to take the lead after G. Skalamera's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled out as his shot went just over the bar after 26 minutes. RLU almost scored after a swift counterattack 27 minutes into the game, but L. Robert put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal. 31 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but K. Vieira, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide. chubudaire took the lead 40 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as K. Harning elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. 1 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by chubudaire, with 60 percent of the ball.

chubudaire's J. Rawie saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 52 minutes. RLU needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 55 minutes C. Renaudeau made way for L. Simon. A scuffle developed as players from both sides clashed following a tussle in the centre of the field 62 minutes into the match. After regaining order and consulting his linesman, the referee called chubudaire's L. Akkerdaas to one side and produced a red card for the player. RLU were close to putting the equaliser away after 67 minutes as the opposing defence lost control of the ball to G. Leroy in a scuffle towards the left of the goal, but in the end the ball was cleared over the dead ball line. The bench was restless, and with 70 minutes passed RLU's coach gave M. Poli the opportunity the player had been hoping for. J. Angebault reluctantly left the field. After 80 minutes, RLU switched G. Leroy with J. Poli, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. Neither team were able to dominate possession this half.

chubudaire's best player was G. Skalamera. G. Arcimowicz was a disappointment, however. L. Robert performed admirably for RLU. J. Poli turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 0.
