Clear skies welcomed the 48744 spectators who had made their way to
Myrstacken.
Lothar Wöhr was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Jonathan Expert and
Tom Kang-Ta.
Myrorna decided to use a 3-4-3 set up.
Starters: Reimo - D'Alessandro, Vizcaya, Erva - Rahkala, Figuerola, Pikunić, Isom - Felisi, Herrera, de With.
Dumidatan tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Ingbert - Gibbons, Hoşkadem, Kulinichev, Schippermütze - Tarana, Gomez, Windhain, Lamm - Finstad, Birnie.
Dumidatan clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could.
After 3 minutes of play,
J. Rahkala gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right.
With 8 minutes played, Myrorna's
E. de With almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net.
Dumidatan's
F. Birnie got himself booked for a foul.
After 13 minutes Myrorna's
D. Pikunić limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Myrorna to 2 - 0 as
A. Isom finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
Confident in their lead, Myrorna's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
Myrorna's
G. Vizcaya refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 20 minutes.
The referee showed Myrorna's
G. Vizcaya the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
Dumidatan reduced the lead after 29 minutes to 2 - 1 as
M. Windhain easily chipped the ball past the home side's keeper after a dazzling play from the right.
The head of
U. Herrera connected with a corner kick after 33 minutes, and the ball ended up with
E. Erva of Myrorna who blasted the ball into the net, making the score 3 - 1.
3 - 1 was the score after the first half.
Myrorna enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.
The bench was restless, and with 65 minutes passed Dumidatan's coach gave
H. Preis the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
F. Birnie reluctantly left the field.
Good work by the Dumidatan defensive line after 67 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found
L. Gomez alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide.
After 71 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
A. Isom might have resulted in another goal for Myrorna. However,
J. Ingbert made a spectacular save.
Myrorna's
L. Felisi was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 73 minutes.
L. Felisi should probably have put his team up another goal after 79 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
J. Ingbert kept the visitors in the game.
Dumidatan had a magnificent opportunity after 80 minutes as
M. Tarana hit the ball hard from the edge of the penalty box. However, the shot went wide.
The home side's
J. D'Alessandro curled a free kick home after 81 minutes, putting Myrorna ahead 4 - 1.
Possession of the ball saw an equal split between the teams during the forty-five minutes.
Myrorna's top performer was clearly
L. Felisi.
L. Reimo was a disappointment, however.
Dumidatan's best player was
M. Windhain.
On the other hand,
S. Gibbons's play was disheartening.
The match ends 4 - 1.
