previous 10/10 next 2/10  Snejbjerg 5 - 1 Bryggen (389413560)

Clouds darkened the skies at Snejbjerg Eagles Arena as 35883 spectators turned up for the match. Juan Carlos Briones was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Remo Kemper and Juan Díaz. Snejbjerg started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Krogslund Andersen - Vigot, Freywald, van Laer, Serup-Nørgaard - Smidt, Odér, Blavnsfeldt, Møller Pedersen - Havlykke, Bertram.

Bryggen decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players had been chosen: Matussin - Clark, Gravesen, Mundi - Szentannai, Raun, Čapljić, Malle, Małecki - Knudsen, Ruzau.

Snejbjerg clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. Bryggen clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. 14 minutes into the match, Bryggen nearly took the lead, as A. Ruzau broke through on the right. E. Krogslund Andersen made the save, however. Snejbjerg showed their counterattack skill 15 minutes into the match by breaking through the middle, with T. Bertram scoring uncontested for 1 - 0. Snejbjerg made it 2 - 0 as T. Bertram got a touch to the floated corner kick and flicked the ball to J. Smidt who whipped a low drive in off the far post. G. Serup-Nørgaard could have increased the lead after 17 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. With 34 minutes played, L. Čapljić had a fantastic opportunity to reply but his shot flew harmlessly into the side-netting of the goal. 35 minutes into the game, K. Blavnsfeldt finished off a Snejbjerg left wing counterattack, making the score 3 - 0. Bryggen kept trying to force their way through on the right side and A. Malle got his chance after 39 minutes, but the home side's defence held their position and stopped the attack. Cheers filled the stadium as K. Havlykke broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 0 to Snejbjerg. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Snejbjerg lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. After 44 minutes Snejbjerg's R. Møller Pedersen limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. 44 minutes into the game, Snejbjerg were awarded a penalty that R. van Laer turned into 5 - 0 without a problem. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Bryggen, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. The visitors got a chance to pulling one back after 44 minutes, due to a defensive blunder leaving B. Szentannai completely unmarked. His strike was pathetic though, easy prey for the home side's keeper. Snejbjerg were pushed back, and had many dangerous counterattacks. An impressive one came 44 minutes into the match, but R. van Laer narrowly missed the free kick attempt that was awarded as a result of a foul. 44 minutes in, A. Ruzau made an incredible run up the middle and nearly reduced the home side's lead, but E. Krogslund Andersen refused to let the ball slip by him. It was 5 - 0 at the break. Bryggen claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

The home team's fans were upset when, after 67 minutes, the visiting L. Čapljić broke through the central defence and kicked the ball past the keeper. 5 - 1 was the score. The crowd roared its approval when E. Krogslund Andersen somehow managed to block a shot which seemed to be a certain goal by Bryggen's A. Malle 74 minutes into the game. Bryggen players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. J. Raun had a couple of good opportunities to reply, but the home team's keeper E. Krogslund Andersen was simply unbeatable. Bryggen had most of the ball, with 59 percent of possession.

T. Bertram performed admirably for Snejbjerg. E. Vigot on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Bryggen player was without a doubt A. Ruzau. M. Małecki was a disappointment, however. The match ends 5 - 1.
