43783 spectators had come to
Olimpico this cloudy day.
Keld Vestergaard was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Jim Brinkley and
Víctor Irigoin.
mitko decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
The following players had been chosen: Cakó - Dönmez, Ciordia, Ali, Dill - Zedníček, Mozina, Bekdemir, Navarro Pérez - Cupitò, Audinot.
Chaoticians tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination.
The following players took the field: Ferguson - Ashcraft, Smith - Généreux, Mason, Plazas, Gamboa, Quintanilla - Glenn, Kinsey, Shields.
For their match strategy, mitko had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible.
Chaoticians displayed their ability to play creatively.
Chaoticians's
Ó. Plazas had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 2 minutes having been played.
J. Guillory was the replacement.
4 minutes into the match Chaoticians's
J. Guillory head butted an opponent nastily, and so the referee sent him off immediately.
The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Chaoticians's
J. Mason after 7 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead.
After 11 minutes, a counter attack by mitko was converted into a decent free kick opportunity. However, the indirect free kick routine was easily anticipated by the defenders. A textbook example of how to defend a free kick - the attackers were left with few viable options.
30 minutes into the game,
C. Bekdemir had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
A. Repo-Nikkanen.
It was 0 - 1 at the break.
Chaoticians enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.
L. Shields was, after 49 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper
A. Cakó made the save.
T. Kinsey came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over
A. Cakó but overcooked it and hit the bar instead.
mitko tried to even things up by sending a long ball towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play.
The coach of Chaoticians was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 60 minutes,
M. Schwarz came on for
N. Ferguson.
Chaoticians's
M. Glenn's long shot really ought to have found the net 63 minutes into the match, but it fell just wide of the target.
mitko's
E. Cupitò put his head to a high ball coming in from the right after 65 minutes, but the ball went wide.
Chaoticians had most of the ball, with 57 percent of possession.
Most important mitko player was
E. Cupitò.
On the other hand,
A. Repo-Nikkanen's play was disheartening.
Chaoticians's best player was
A. Gamboa.
D. Ashcraft on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 0 - 1.
