The crowd of 20604 turning up at
Los alquimistas today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain.
Bengt Andreasson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Csaba Ábrahám and
Robustiano Maraver.
4019 started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
Lineup: Altimir - Leblanc, Angeletti, Lutiger, Nežník - Bergström, Huber, Amézaga, Bojarovas - Quintans, Fetz.
Dintinosante tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Achleitner - Egger, Senyushkin, Vesterkvist, Ipalategui - de Oliveira, Valencia, Ramírez, Oropeza, Koenigsegg - Matz.
4019 took a creative approach on the field.
Dintinosante saw most attack opportunities on the wings.
10 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but
J. Matz, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide.
Given a free kick close to the byline, 4019 tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
D. Leblanc slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 1 - 0, 14 minutes into the game.
Coming through the middle
H. Koenigsegg almost scored the equaliser for Dintinosante after 20 minutes, but
G. Altimir made an excellent save, tipping the awkwardly curled shot past the post.
Halftime score was 1 - 0.
4019 enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.
One of many good crosses from
H. Koenigsegg on the wing was received and skillfully taken care of by
J. Matz, who scored for Dintinosante. 1 - 1
4019 were very close to putting themselves one up after 60 minutes as
L. Nežník got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide.
Down the middle came
D. Egger, making a fantastic play that nearly had Dintinosante take the lead after 66 minutes, but
G. Altimir preserved the tie.
With 72 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 2 - 1 lead as
F. Quintans flipped the ball in after a cross from the right.
After 78 minutes,
A. Lutiger put 4019 ahead 3 - 1 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing.
The referee showed 4019's
M. Bojarovas the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
In a fantastic display of determination, Dintinosante's
E. Oropeza forced himself to his feet, after an opponent viciously knocked him down.
With 82 minutes played, 4019's
S. Fetz almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net.
With 86 minutes played,
J. Valencia had a fantastic opportunity to reply but his shot flew harmlessly into the side-netting of the goal.
M. Amézaga didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain.
4019 had most of the ball, with 59 percent of possession.
4019's best player was
M. Amézaga.
On the other hand,
A. Lutiger's play was disheartening.
O. Ramírez performed admirably for Dintinosante.
E. Oropeza was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 3 - 1.
