Bonasia was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. A. Meroni replaced him. ZANATESE were desperate to get a goal back and pushed forward through the middle 39 minutes into the game. After a scramble in the box, the ball dropped to I. Soutullo, who smashed it home to make the score 2 - 1. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1. ZANATESE claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

ZANATESE levelled the score after 67 minutes to make it 2 - 2, as A. Mauceri struck home after a fine midfield combination through the centre, which left him completely unmarked. E. Van 'T Hoff of ZANATESE was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. The home keeper expected a move to the right, but D. Pimentel surprised him with a free kick aimed the other way 77 minutes into the match. 2 - 3 for ZANATESE. M. Falasconi almost seemed to dance around W. Szychowiak, his movements were so smooth. Unfortunately for ICAM, his finish ended up on the wrong side of the post. I. Soutullo could have put his team up another goal 82 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. When E. Van 'T Hoff made yet another studs-first tackle after 83 minutes, the referee was obliged to book the ZANATESE player for the second time, sending him off the pitch. Possession in this half belonged to ZANATESE, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.
