(392501654)

20-06-2012 21.45
The 18855 spectators at
Bonfim XXI were in for an afternoon of sunshine.
Otto Malling was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Massimo Monolo and
Dominik Weigel.
The derby had been the talk of
Setúbal all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium.
Setúbal decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
They fielded: Grillakis - Bardiçi, Sersheim, Tibocha, Geffen - Olsen, Lamhauge, Flamant, Stöhr - Kaplinski, Lagny.
Moncarapachense tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Aalderen - Varina, Macedo - Šuhajík, Allen, Teissèdre, Virgos, Kozak - Vanheste, van Ankeren, Angelov.
It was an obvious ambition of Moncarapachense to use their ability at attacking on the flanks.
After 1 minutes, Moncarapachense put themselves up 0 - 1, as
V. Kozak finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot.
The home crowd cheered when, after 6 minutes,
V. Kozak's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day.
A. Vanheste hit the corner kick straight to the keeper, but it was mishandled, giving Moncarapachense's
N. Teissèdre an easy chance to knock it in for 0 - 2.
The players of Moncarapachense now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
After 17 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
J. Virgos to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 3.
The home team's supporters got excited again when
S. Lagny broke through the visitors' central defence and caught their keeper off guard, making it 1 - 3.
With 36 minutes played, Moncarapachense put themselves up 1 - 4 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was
A. Varina.
T. Kaplinski challenged the visitors' central defence eagerly, producing a good chance 37 minutes into the game as he went for a through ball. But, as so many times before, the guests' defensive efforts got the best of it.
Halftime score was 1 - 4.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Moncarapachense, with 51 percent of the ball.
Setúbal had a brilliant opportunity to reply as
G. Bardiçi received a high ball from the right, striking the ball in the air. Only
T. Aalderen's reflexes saved him.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
A. Varina got himself booked. The manager of Moncarapachense was not happy.
Moncarapachense's
A. Šuhajík refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 83 minutes.
Usually a powerful player on the field,
N. Teissèdre looked kind of pale and tired under the hot sun.
Setúbal's
L. Lamhauge found himself alone on the left side 86 minutes into the match and laid down a perfect shot - right into the arms of the keeper!
S. Lagny charged down the left and looked sure to score for Setúbal 87 minutes into the game, but his shot went just wide.
The visitors nearly scored again after 88 minutes, but a superb save by
T. Grillakis kept
A. Šuhajík's free kick out of the net.
Setúbal claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.
S. Lagny performed admirably for Setúbal.
G. Bardiçi turned in a dismal performance, however.
Most important Moncarapachense player was
A. Varina.
However,
A. Šuhajík made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 1 - 4.
