Due to an all-day shower, 20000 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Samba Arena. It was an obvious ambition of united to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. After 3 minutes, Banquise sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached M. Ovesson, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 0 - 1. The home crowd was not impressed when S. Milán came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 23 minutes. Banquise were now up 0 - 2. T. Orellana slipped and slithered in the wet grass. His usual rapid runs were nowhere to be seen today. An accurate cross from P. Fast Hansen of united was met with a wonderful glancing header from N. Del Muto, hitting the inside base of the post before nestling into the back of the net for 1 - 2. L. Rada was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn't move the ball around with his usual grace. Banquise's G. Moneta was shown a yellow card after 36 minutes for slicing down an opponent. A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from S. Milán after 37 minutes, and prevented Banquise from going up another goal. The visitors' M. Ligier took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 38 minutes into the match. 1 - 3 for Banquise. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 3. Possession in this half belonged to Banquise, who controlled the ball 64 percent of the time.

D. Sudnius wanted to play on, but the Banquise coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 46 minutes into the game by J. Nowaliński. A drive down the left side allowed D. Étcheberry to get in close and score another goal for Banquise after 70 minutes, taking the score to 1 - 4. 83 minutes into the game, Banquise were awarded a penalty and T. Varela was able to increase the visitors' lead to 1 - 5 rolling the ball in by the right post. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Banquise lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, P. Fast Hansen got himself booked. The manager of united was not happy. After 85 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave G. Moneta a chance to increase the lead for Banquise, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 6. After 86 minutes, Banquise were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise. J. Nowaliński did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans. Banquise claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 66 percent.

N. Del Muto performed admirably for united. J. Sjölund turned in a dismal performance, however. Banquise's best player was U. Pati. On the other hand, M. Ligier's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 6.
