Di Lillo. 20 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but S. Carteron, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide. 0 - 1 was the score with 22 minutes played, after S. Carteron cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for ECV. After 29 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for T. Coudurier who increased ECV's lead to 0 - 2. After 36 minutes, ECV's S. Carteron burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3. It was 0 - 3 at the break. Communards enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.

Content with how the game was proceeding, the ECV coach let A. Hureau replace D. Cottin after 60 minutes. 76 minutes in, ECV's A. Gastou received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The heat made it a terrible day for P. Noromaa, who seemed unable to keep up with the other players. With the scoreboard showing that 82 minutes had been played, ECV nearly put themselves up another goal after D. Luc came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. Communards had to make a substitution after 85 minutes. P. Noromaa limped off the field and was replaced by S. Iguarán. T. Coudurier could have added one to the visitors' lead if his free kick had gone just a little lower. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Communards, with 53 percent of the ball.

Communards's best player was F. Jügesheim. L. Schatz was a disappointment, however. ECV's top performer was clearly S. Carteron. D. Luc turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 3.
