(393697736)

31-07-2012 21.30
Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and
Rhondda Stadium saw a crowd turnout of 3816.
Suavi Alçın was the appointed referee.
UPG had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Jaromin - Lai, Jagielski, Papapietro - Blonder, Brodsky, Serra, Brügmann, Falkenhagen - Scheuzger, Luthuli.
Playboys started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Burki - Piltti, Hyövälti, Heinonen, Maantila - Štokmanis, Pettersson, Bülbül, Kakkori - Jalovaara, Taura.
UPG were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks.
Today, Playboys's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks.
With 3 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 1 - 0 lead as
F. Serra flipped the ball in after a cross from the right.
A. Jalovaara finished off a quick charge from the left of the field by chipping the ball just past the home side's keeper, making the score 1 - 1 21 minutes into the match.
Down the middle came
M. Maantila, making a fantastic play that nearly had Playboys take the lead after 22 minutes, but
P. Jaromin preserved the tie.
V. Falkenhagen was ever so close to scoring after an excellent corner was beautifully flicked on by
F. Serra, but the ball bounced off the post to safety.
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1.
UPG claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.
Some things can only be learned through experience, and
T. Hyövälti should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting UPG a goal with 49 minutes of the match played.
After some beautiful movement down the left wing,
K. Scheuzger scored for UPG putting them ahead 2 - 1, after 49 minutes.
Attacking on the wings was the choice for UPG, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as UPG scored another to make it 3 - 1 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
P. Brodsky after 75 minutes.
With 80 minutes played, the Playboys coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around.
A. Nurmo came on,
A. Taura had to leave the fray.
After 80 minutes, UPG's
G. Blonder fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit!
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
F. Serra squirmed through their central defence after 81 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 1.
K. Scheuzger could have put UPG up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 84 minutes.
G. Blonder's early cross saw the defenders caught out of position and the alert
K. Scheuzger was able to pounce and roll the ball past the hapless goalkeeper to score for UPG. 5 - 1.
Cheers filled the stadium as
R. Luthuli broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 6 - 1 to UPG.
UPG had to make a substitution after 88 minutes.
R. Luthuli limped off the field and was replaced by
M. Beretta.
UPG had most of the ball, with 60 percent of possession.
Most important UPG player was
M. Beretta.
G. Blonder turned in a dismal performance, however.
Playboys's top performer was clearly
A. Jalovaara.
T. Hyövälti on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 6 - 1.
