EEH Tournament, the biggest tournament in hattrick universe

In this HT-Press we are going to talk about a tournament that is being played every season in the Escuela Ercanto Hattrick Federation, a tournament that has three series more than spanish HT league system, with an outstanding number of eleven leagues!

All of us know that inclusion of tournament matches was one of the few useful things extracted from Hattrick Gears, specially since the moment it was allowed to create tournaments for federation members and they became free of charge for supporters. It was a great step forward in the social concept of the game, which let you confront with your HT friends whenever you want without having to wait to be drawn together in a league group or a Cup round (which has, on the other hand, been mitigated somehow with the feature that teams can change league in the lower series).

In fact, HT owners have continued working in the direction of improving the social aspect of the game, first adding more tournament options and then including challenges and ladders (and even federation ladders recently) which confer Hattrick a greater depth with the option to play against whoever we want whenever we want.

But let’s go back to tournaments; since their beginning and since the moment it was possible to create them in federations, the Escuela Ercanto Hattrick (107426) (currently the biggest one in Spain) realized the potential of the new tool to entertain and increase the loyalty of its federated members, so the first edition of the “Escuela Ercanto Hattrick Tournament” was created with the far-from-negligible amount of 48 enrolled teams, spread in 1st, 2nd-A, 2nd-B, 3rd-A and 3rd-B series, with two groups each, being v@lencia C.F. (775044), manager by al_vlc (8237023) who inaugurated the competition palmares after defeating 3-1 greengroucers’ team. Here we can see this first edition table, played a year and a half ago:

Although after that greengrouncer retaliated by winning the next three editions in a row, the tournament had an overwhelming success and consolidated as a meeting point for all federation managers, who wait expectantly for it season after season; in parallel, the number of participating teams increased with each new edition, going from the 48 teams in the begining to 70 in the second edition, 96 in the third and fourth, and finally 112 teams spread in 11 series since the seventh one, which makes this tournament one of the bigger, if not the biggest, tournament being currently organized in the Hattrick universe.

For those of you interested in how it works, each series is composed of 12 teams divided in two groups of 6, which play a five rounds league with playoffs. The two winning teams (who play the final match) promote to the higher series, while the two worst (who lose a short tournament in the playoff stage) drop to the lower series, a system that has shown to be very dynamic: a new season is played every 7 weeks, and the promoting system makes every match important and can cause a single defeat to mean playing for relegation instead of promotion. Of course there exist unfair results here as well, but well, it’s funnier to moan with friends in the federation tournament forum thread.

A lot of people have worked and still work in the federation and tournament “engine room”, but currently the main organizer is Capador (1892522), who is carrying out a great labor, necessary to keep it running and highly appreciated by federation members; nevertheless, a lot of members contribute their bit to reach tournament expectations season after season.

Nowadays the 12th season is being played, which means the tournament is not only one of the biggest, but also one of the oldest in the game. Each season the waiting list is filled with new teams wanting to take part in it, coming not only from Spain, but from several other Spanish-speaking countries.
