Interview with Snapp, Winner of the TomDHT Memorial Cup

An interview with a friendly Norwegian called Snapp (2432048) whose second team, Snapps of England (952806), has just won the inaugural TomDHT Memorial Cup.

1. Looking at your team name and user name, I deduce that you are a fan of simple card games and/or strong, mainly fruit-based, alcoholic drinks. Am I close?
Not exactly :) I couldn't come up with a name for my 2nd team and just used a version of my Norwegian team name as a placeholder while I was waiting to receive a team. Forgot the deadline and just kept the name.

2. After being knocked out of the English Cup in round 2 you were parachuted into the George Carey Cup where you lost again and finally found yourself in the TomDHT Memorial Cup. At that stage did you expect to reach the final?
I checked the remaining contestants when it was 32 teams left and saw that I had one of the stronger teams and decided to go for it.

3. In the final (498258215) you played This Is England 66 (958363) from VI. What were your thoughts going into the match?
I was pretty sure I would win. To be a little impolite I have to say his lineup was rather predictable and I set my lineup accordingly.

4. You have made it as high as series II with your first team in Norway, once making it into the promotion playoffs for the Tippeligaen. Where does that achievement rank with winning the TomDHT Memorial Cup with your second team?
While it was lot of fun winning the TomDHT Memorial Cup almost making it to the top division in Norway rank the highest.

5. You joined Hattrick in February 2005. How did you hear about it?
I was asked to convince a friend to come to a party. He agreed to do so if I started playing Hattrick.

6. You run a youth academy with both of your teams. Do you enjoy that side of the game?
Youth academies are much more fun than the lottery system in my opinion. I prefer a system where manager skill is more involved.

7. You currently pay for the diamond supporter package. Are you friends with Warren Buffet?
I wish:-) I wanted to try it out but the only extra feature I enjoy is the 10 replays of matches and the cost is to high so i expect to scale back again.

8. If your second team had a song to run out to (maybe it does!), what would it be? And while we're on the subject of music, what album would you want on a desert island if you could only take one.
At present it would have to be "We are the champions" :-)
Album on a desert island? Hard to decide but I think Queen: Greatest hits

9. You are a member of 3 federations. Which is your favourite?
The "Scuba Saturdays and some Wednesdays"-federation. Not much is happening there now but we used to gather at Scuba bar and watch our matches while drinking beer.

10. Are there any managers in Hattrick that you admire or despise? Why?
In Norway I have a rivalry with Snipp (1597588). (Snipp and Snapp are the Norwegian names for Disney's Chip and Dale)
In England i enjoyed immensely to knock the evil RLinney7 out of the cup last season (481802371) :-) (I used to be a GM and we traded friendly insults at the GM-forum some years ago)

11. How many hours a week do you spend on Hattrick?
Too afraid to measure but it’s a lot. I read the forums, check the transfer market and often do absolutely nothing but are still logged on.

12. When did you last kick a football?
Last week. A kid on the street was playing with a ball and lost it. I expertly kicked it back and only missed him by 4-5 yards.

13. What tips would you give a newbie manager?
Have patience and fun

14. Describe the footwear that you are currently wearing.
Ordinary socks. Wish I had some Scuba feet so I would seem more interesting/strange

15. Why did you choose England as the place to base your second team?
Great admiration for English cooking. (or was it the humor on the forum?)
Different game days from Norway was also a large factor.

16. With your second team, what skill are you currently training and what stamina percentage are you currently using and why?
Scoring/short passes with 12% stamina. I like to be competitive while making a decent profit from selling trainees.

17. Please tell us how/where you met your other half (or last conquest), and how he/she feels about your hattrick addiction?
Strangely enough it seems that telling girls that you play Hattrick doesn't get them interested so I usually avoid the topic.

18. What's your favourite drink? And where would be the ideal place to drink it?
Beer. On a nice beach with good friends.

19. You have caught Ebola. (Don't panic! You haven't – this is just theoretical. Unless you have a fever and your eyes are bleeding. Then you might want to call a doctor.) You have 24 hours to live. What would you have for breakfast?
See answer 18 :)

20. What question should I have asked you that I haven't?
Is it true that you once ordered beer at a bar through HT-mail?
(The bar manager was also playing Hattrick and was checking his match between serving customers.)
