deadmanager walking up the grassy knowl

Interview with Deadmanager whose team is now the lowest ranked remaining in the English Cup.

Your team team iniQuity has become the lowest ranked team left in the cup, and you now face the reigning Premiership Champions this week in R5. Last week you turned over the reigning cup champions (568435106) thanks in part to your opponents only having 2 reported chances, from their 49/50% of the ball. You've also sold the guy that scored the winner, from a corner-head SE (he was your only head-spec player) with Rockhill fielding 6. You must be delighted?

I am delighted about the win indeed, although I hadn't realised that the lowest ranked team played the highest ranked every time until I saw my next fixture, against the team who are 2nd in the prem (for the moment) I had been hoping it would give me Rockhill's seeding, and their relatively easier cup run!

It was a bit gutting for the transfer-listed player to win the game for us, but unfortunately his age was becoming an issue as well as insufficient skill for my training plans on his position. I did notice the ample slice of luck that actually helped me to win the game, he scored both his chances whilst easily pasting my defence and I scrimped & scraped three out of nine past his impressive defence, even if we had a similar midfield.

You took charge of this team on 17/04/12, and this season is your first in Division V. Do you think you have a strong enough side compared to your opponents to stay up this time, and who do you think will win V.233 this season?

To be fair, I haven't really checked out my opponents, I noticed there were three bots maybe? and therefore I should be able to stay up at least and was concentrating more on the cup run as a personal achievement. It depends when I exit the cup, whether I'll ruin my own chances to win it I guess? I don't like my chances this week... and they were pretty slim last week! If I manage to fluke a win this week I wouldn't have a clue for the next game!

Your manager page doesn't tell us much about yourself. Please tell us a bit about yourself, what club you support (if any) and how you discovered hattrick?

A lot of people find my job title, lubrication engineer, interesting.... I kind of started to support spurs a few years ago from playing fifa as them and soon enough I learnt the players names and skills. I'm not a big fan in terms of actually watching games. If I do though, I like to put bets on to make the game a bit more interesting.

If you have a favourite tune from 2015/16, please provide a link to vimeo/utube/soundcloud for us to listen, but an older classic tune would be fine too.

I love all music, but I'm gonna have to say this is my fave of the 15/16 year as I made this trailer out of all of our years snowboarding to get people interested in going away again.(https://youtu.be/7z4sXefVvFs) I've completed three movies over 45 mins and even hired a cinema to show them. Boarding, filming and editing are three of my favourite hobbies!

Home grown player Neil Edgar (407301835) is at the heart of your midfield. What are your training plans for him, and what are his current skills?

Well, he was perfect for one of the under 20 campaigns but he's mono skilled - SN PM at the moment and being the lower end of the TSI scale seems to have kept him out I think. I think I'll be moving him to defender training, in which he is currently passable, unless anyone can convince me to continue PM training, but his wages will start to hurt soon. If he's still in with a chance for under 20's I may keep at it, or sell?

Please provide a link to your favourite work of art?

Haha, I recently started painting my own art work as I have a fair amount of wall-space in my little flat and wanted something unique, and all the nice large paintings far exceed my budget! I don't have a link, its unfinished as yet, but its a joint painting between me and my girlfriend. .....My part is complete..... We're each painting half a H2 bond (http://www.middleschoolchemistry.com/img/content/multimedia/chapter_4/lesson_6/covalent_bond_hydrogen_3.jpg) in space - there's a lot of symbolism in it, I could probably ramble on for more than a lifetime about it if that was even possible!

Please tell us about your experience as a relatively new team manager, what lessons you have learned and what tips you would give to any new managers reading this?

I'm actually not that relatively new. I played for a few years while at uni, I even bought the T-shirt, and still wore the approx 10 year old thing right up until last year! Its now awaiting my wall of fame if I ever get myself a man den! I only ever had one person react whilst wearing it, and it was actually a girl! from my halls. I don't really know what advice to give, as I like to take an unorthodox approach to most things. Maybe just to remember that this game is very much time based, so take it easy!

Please tell us how/where you met your other half (or last conquest), and how he/she feels about your hattrick addiction?

Haha, we met on Tinder! Shes a kiwi and into rugby for obvious reasons. When I tried to explain what had happened I said it was like Pukehina a small village by the sea where her grand parents live (http://www.nz.open2view.com/assets/property/1200/0/2/0224ef3323640883feac2957717daa1d3241f007.jpeg) playing Auckland, and Pukehina winning, to which I received a laugh and then a fist pump assuring me that the realm of internet dating is here to stay.

Iniquity, according to the dictionary definition, refers to immoral or grossly unfair behaviour. Given your success against Rockhill last week, this seems rather apt, but could you explain why you chose this name, and the significance of the capital 'Q' if there is one?

Haha, its a great word as very few people probably know the meaning, so it hopefully firsts creates intrigue and then some fear. This is my team name because I was in a CallOfDuty clan (https://zielinskizaceportfolio.files.wordpress.com/2013/04/cod-clan.jpg) at uni that was no.1 in the UK and 49th in Europe before the wheels fell off rather abruptly. The capital Q was part of the short-hand tag "iQ" and my team badge was outlined as a giant Q. It also looks.... ergonomic(?) placed in the middle of the word and I think this makes it look...uniQue...

What was your first car (or bike) and what happened to it?

My first car was a Peugeot 106 Mardis Gras (http://images.clickedit.co.uk/885/8210593.jpg), it was supposed to be my mothers. I loved that car, even though I sometimes had to push start it in festival fields. I only got to drive it in between university, it was just 988cc but it got me to Paris and back twice in the height of summer and all over the UK. It never failed on me... just on my brother when I let him have it after I finished uni! haha! Now I own a Honda CRX with an automatic targa roof. which if you've never seen one... well, (https://youtu.be/flSx4mrFA7Q) but I took it to Switzerland and back and it hasn't missed a heartbeat.
