Interview with ZorroMP

Interview with ZorroMP whose team is now the lowest ranked remaining in the English Cup going into R7.

Your team Liverpool Dribblers knocked out a Prem team, Livercrewe Tigers last week (568708569). Tigers went for a CA strategy with two defensive forwards, and failed to score two of their 3 CA chances. They put out a pretty hefty defence though, so you must have been pleased to put 4 of your nine chances past that?

Yes, I was very pleased. But I do think it was a deserved win. It's always difficult for top teams to manage the cup, rotate players and to maintain a high team spirit, so I knew I might have a chance. This season I've been able to rotate my players in the league and still score plenty of goals, which is always great for team confidence and has very much helped with scoring against the better teams in the cup.

You took charge of this 2nd team on 06/05/13, which is a bit after they were first launched. Did you try another nation first and what made you choose England?

No, I went straight for England. I'm a huge fan of the Premier League and English football, so there was never any doubt where I wanted to go. I wanted to build a team of purely homegrown Liverpool players. I started from the back and now only my forwards are from other clubs. In a couple of seasons the team will be red through and through.

You are clearly a Liverpool fan. Jürgen Klopp is looking like he's the real deal, who would you like him to bring to the club this summer and is it too soon to start talking about winning the title next season?

I'm actually one of the few who thinks we have a pretty talented squad already. I also think Jürgen Klopp is the perfect fit for Liverpool to get them performing at the highest level on a more consistent basis. Of course, a couple of quality additions would be ideal. I think Matip (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jo%C3%ABl_Matip) is going to be a great signing to help our defence. Among the rumoured players, I think Goetze and a quality keeper like ter Stegen would be great. We have already shown this season we can beat top teams convincingly, so I don't see why we wouldn't be a title contender next season.

If you have a favourite tune from 2015/16, please provide a link to vimeo/utube/soundcloud for us to listen, but an older classic tune would be fine too.

I like all kinds of music, old, new, rock, soul, house etc. I usually keep up with the new stuff, but this last year I've been a bit nostalgic and mostly listened to music from a couple of years back. One rediscovered favourite of mine is Massive Attack - Unfinished Symphony. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWmrfgj0MZI)

Your primary team, Zorro Dribblers is currently top of Division IIc in Sweden, and you've been in charge since January 2009. How do you rate your chances for gaining promotion to the top division, and will that make you famous in Sweden, home of hattrick?

I don't know how much fame that would bring. But actually in Sweden there is also Division I, before the top division "Allsvenskan".

Having said that, even gaining promotion from Division IIc, will be very tough. Every team is difficult to beat and some have a wage bill that is almost twice that of mine! My main target in Sweden is to build a competitive team with a core of homegrown players and to maintain a high level over many, many seasons. If we get the chance to go higher we will try everything to do so, but the main target is to keep improving, have sound financials and to constantly bring in homegrown talent to the team.

Can you recommend a TV series?

I watch a lot of TV-series. One of my favourites this year is “The night manager”. A really good British espionage thriller based on a novel by John Le Carré. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1399664/)

Please tell us how/where you met your other half (or last conquest), and how he/she feels about your hattrick addiction?

We met at a birthday party for a mutual friend. She managed to beat me in a music intro quiz which was very annoying, I must admit, but the spark was lit and we've been together for 5 years now.

She thinks I'm a total nerd for my hattrick addiction, setting my alarm Sunday morning to get up to watch the Swedish game, I also spend countless of hours planning and setting up my team. When I proudly told her I was going to be interviewed by the English HT-press, she just laughed. Well, it's her loss, for not understanding this magnificent game!

Please tell us the best clean joke you've read recently?

A Chelsea fan walks into a pub in London and spots a guy wearing a Liverpool shirt.
“Drinks for everyone here, bartender!” shouts the Chelsea fan.
“Except for Mr. Liverpool!"
The Liverpool fan smiles and says, “Thank you!”
Infuriated, the Chelsea fan orders another round of drinks for everyone
except Mr. Liverpool, who, again, thanks the man. This goes on for a while,
until Mr. Chelsea asks the bartender, “What’s the matter with that guy? I’ve
ordered rounds of drinks for everyone but him, and all he does is thank me.
Is he nuts?”
“No, he’s not nuts,” says the bartender. “He owns the place.”

This week you face England's number one manager, who has also managed our National Team. Have you tried to get elected before, if so what happened, and if not, please explain how you would go about it?

Matt seems to be a great manager and if anyone is going to end my 19 match win streak, I'm glad it's someone of his quality!

No, I've yet to try to get elected, never even thought about it to be honest. I think I'd like to have more experience managing at a higher level or perhaps to assist in the “backroom staff” to learn how the scouting and everything works. I don't know how I would go about it. To coach at international level would require some serious planning and studying!

What was your first car (or bike) and what happened to it?

I got my first car from my dad, an old Volvo 740 (http://www.swva.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/Volvo-740-GL-001.jpg). Over the years it had all sorts of problems and finally ended up in the scrapyard.
