8-23-2021 Golden League Masters Glory For Turtles!
Last night, Turtle Pond Armada beat a strong Prague Slivers side in a wild 5-3 match to win the 16th edition of the Golden League Masters, the flagship friendly tournament of the HTU Managers Federation
(102312). The final was a frenetic affair in which the Turtles nearly blew a 4-1 lead, and was very much of a piece with the dramatic swings of fortune that marked TPA's Masters run, which previously saw them blowing a 4-1 lead against Los Mejores before rebounding to win and successfully overturning a 5-1 first leg deficit against Polomint.
When asked for comment, coach Lorenzo Miquilena said: "This tournament run took five years off my life, but it was worth it." He also stated that this would be his final match before retiring to spend more time with his family, during which time he is expected to complain about being fired immediately after winning the Masters. Sources within the club indicate that defender Fausto Cruz is poised to become the next coach.
