Mayo suffered a painful defeat at home to a much improved Weirdo on Sunday but bounced back well winning a tough cup tie against Birmingham United 0-4 – who were previously unbeaten in 14 games.

Hill was optimistic after the game saying “well Sunday wasn’t ideal, I don’t think the lads were prepared enough for the game to be honest. I told them I wanted a response and they delivered”.

Mayo will expect to come away from stal bracknell with all 3 points this weekend before a big home cup tie against StreetAddicks.

Hill added “stal are new to this league and took a bit of a thumping last week, they’ll be looking to show what they can do so we need to be careful. Addicks look very strong and we don’t know much about them but we’re optimistic”.

Mayonnaise are looking forward to another new season in V.

After meeting the targets of R4 in the cup and finishing 5th, Hill is hoping to finish in the top 3 and possibly push for the title whilst also making R4 again in the cup.

Hill said to the press “well, why not? There’s strength up front in VMB and new side Costa Malta, Weirdo are always tough to score past, Smoking and Mad City are always tricky, and then there’s the new lads.”

Hill added “last season showed that everyone is beatable, I think it’s about picking the battles”. Mayo start off against Viennachester United in the cup and a home tie against Weirdo.

“Nothing less than 2 wins will be enough if we want to be taken seriously.”

Today, Bean Flicking Cowboys F.C. announced the signing of American forward Sean Roberts (268098723).

Arriving at the training ground this afternoon, manager The_Wales spoke briefly about the new arrival: "There was an opportunity to sign Sean and we've taken it, he's a fine player with a very good scoring record that will boost our hopes of survival and hopefully push us on to bigger and better things."

Roberts will wear the number 14 shirt.

Today Bean Flicking Cowboys F.C. confirmed the departure of Ustad Yousuf (376686782).

"We are upset to lose such a talent early on in his career but understand his desire to play regular football, that was something we couldn't offer him at this present moment" The_Wales said.

The_Wales has been lauded by the fan club and addressed them and the assembled press at the Cowboys training ground this morning.

"The lads have perfomed admirably and have gained their just rewards for all their hard work this season" said The_Wales. "I certainly thought that we would be pushing for promotion this season, especially after how we battled last season, but I never expected such a streak as what we've achieved - the players should be very proud of themselves" he added.

But The_Wales was quick to douse expectations of a double promotion.

"Lets not get ahead of ourselves, this won't happen. Going up a division brings new challenges and it's only going to get tougher. We have a talented bunch of players, lets enjoy the experience and learn from it to make ourselves stronger!"
