ASM 9 - 2 G07

Due to the fairly good weather for football today, 215 spectators have come down to LE PERTHUIS. The boys who got to play today were: Guennec - Robinot, Ben M'Barka - Comby, Granier, Nguyen, Richardeau, Habert - Pacheco, Guillemot, Ronsin.

The picks for today were: Morandeau - Chéret, Rumeau, Ramin, Lucas - Paquin, Meyer, Couvreux, Goulois - Othmani, Gimenez.

AS METARE fielded a 2-5-3 lineup. For gonesdu07, the formation of choice was 4-4-2. ASM decided to play creatively. G07 seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. After 12 minutes ASM's Rémy Granier won some bragging rights for the schoolyard. He found his way through the guests' central defence, and put the ball in for 1 - 0 - right between the legs of the keeper! ASM added one goal to their lead as César Pacheco tucked the ball in the net, 2 - 0. He received the ball from the left, turned and then scored. After 27 minutes of the match had been played, the visitors defenders misjudged the movements of ASM's Allan Ronsin through the middle, leaving him one on one with the keeper. He pulled the trigger and the score was 3 - 0. ASM solidified their lead at the 29 minute mark, as Jean-Luc Comby maneuvered the ball through the central line of defence and clipped in the 4 - 0 goal. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, G07's Dominique Couvreux got himself booked. At the halftime break, the score was 4 - 0. This half the G07 boys hung on to the ball, with 51 percent of possession.

It was group hug time yet again, when ASM pushed ahead to 5 - 0. César Pacheco was the center of attention, having moved deftly through the middle to find his angle, not hesitating when he did. César Pacheco increased ASM's lead to 6 - 0, smashing in a cross from the right. César Pacheco was jumping for joy as he was noted down for a hat trick. A bit later, G07's Christian Chéret got an approving look from his dad as he reduced the score to 6 - 1. The situation arose after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence line. Brash young Dominique Couvreux rendered himself a second booking and G07 had to finish the game with a reduced squad. The flat pass from G07's Simon Paquin was met with a powerful header from Gaëtan Goulois, hitting the bar before nestling into the back of the net for 6 - 2. Belhassen Ben M'Barka produced a fine header after that corner kick with 75 minutes on the clock. The ball was blocked by the goalie but was quickly snapped up by Jean-Luc Comby who scored the 7 - 2 goal for ASM. ASM extended their lead to 8 - 2. The boy of the moment was César Pacheco, who protected the ball well as he jinked in from the left side to find space for the finish. G07's Daniel Lucas took a knock to the head after 85 minutes, due to a badly executed header. He took a few uneasy steps, but got dizzy and then taken off the field. It was a critical moment for the team, as there were no substitutes on the bench for the injured player. Given a free kick in a difficult position after 86 minutes, ASM did not go for a direct shot but instead aimed for the area just in front of the keeper. The attacking players made several runs as the ball was played and made it hard for the defenders to protect their goal. After a short tussle with the defender, Pierre Habert could finally lay the ball to rest behind the keeper. 9 - 2, real proof that it can pay off to come prepared. As the match wraps up the score is 9 - 2. ASM pleased their coach greatly, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.

César Pacheco performed especially well for ASM - this one could be a candidate for the senior squad one day. Bruno Nguyen showed he still has a lot to learn. The G07 players gave Zettu Othmani a group hug after the game, claiming he'd been "really great". On the other hand, Jean-Luc Ramin's performance hadn't been very good at all.
