Jango 5 - 3 Göztepe

It had been a rainy day, and no more than 26 were scattered around Jango arena to see the game. The rain was pouring down, it was the kind of weather favoured by strong players who stick to simple football. For players possessing of speed or technical skills, the day really was as grim as for everyone else. The lucky starting players: Silvera Mora - Pérez, Prim, Iraola - Tafur, 绍海 (Shaohai) , Carrillo, Bauer, Escobedo - Gruñeiro, Ardiles.

The picks for today were: Öner - Gözay, Berat - Seha, Kunt, Ulus, Kırca, Atak - Ethem, Özaras, Yalın.

The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Jangoa went for 3-5-2 while Göztepe PAF has decided to play a 2-5-3 lineup. Jango displayed their ability to play creatively. Göztepe showed off their creative tactics. The referee gave the home side a penalty 2 minutes into the game, the visiting lads staring in disbelief at the decision. The few spectators that followed Jango gave the thumbs up to Frederick Bauer after he had whipped the spot kick in. 1 - 0! After 13 minutes, Frederick Bauer emulated a free kick style he'd seen on television. It worked wonders and Jango are now ahead 2 - 0. Frederick Bauer increased Jango's lead to 3 - 0, smashing in a cross from the right. This third goal meant a hat trick for Frederick Bauer, which caused his mother to cheer for him in a rather embarrassing manner. With 20 minutes played, Alejandro Ardiles could have brought this one home for Jango as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Jango's Ramón Escobedo got himself booked. 24 minutes of the game had passed when Vural Kunt attempted an optimistic rush from the left and somehow dragged the ball with him into the goal for 3 - 1. The Göztepe players were equally pleased and puzzled by the effort. 3 - 1 was the score after the first half. Jango didn't seem to want to give the ball away in this half, which resulted in 55 percent of the possession.

Àngel Prim got left behind after 65 minutes as Göztepe's Cemalettin Ulus made a rush for goal. 3 - 2! It was group hug time yet again, when Jango pushed ahead to 4 - 2. Àngel Prim was the center of attention, having moved deftly through the middle to find his angle, not hesitating when he did. The mere sight of Alejandro Ardiles was frustrating for Vural Kunt, who didn't have any chance to keep up with the smooth manoeuvres of his opponent. Unfortunately for Jango, the opportunity created ended up on the wrong side of the post. The referee showed Göztepe's Toros Berat the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Osvaldo Gruñeiro twisted his arm after 82 minutes, forcing Jango to make a substitution. The player that took his place was Juan Aunes. Jango's Frederick Bauer extended the home team's lead to 5 - 2 with a penalty kick after 83 minutes had been played. The goalie should probably have stopped that one. Toros Berat knew he was in trouble after hacking down an opponent. Despite his pleading with the referee, the Göztepe boy was shown a second yellow card and left the pitch in tears. After 85 minutes, Sixto Tulio Carrillo strained his groin quite severely and had to be helped off the field by the physio. Due to this disastrous turn of events, the team now had to finish the match with a reduced lineup. The home team's few fans were upset when, after 87 minutes, the visiting Hüseyin Can Kırca broke through the central defence and rolled the ball in. 5 - 3 was the score. Jango had to manage with a reduced squad from the 88:th minute on, as Noel Iraola got sent off for a foul in a free situation. Juan Aunes feigned, rushed, and dribbled from right to centre, almost managing to give Jango another goal after his determined run. However, his marker was tracking back well and managed to block the shot. The match ends with a 5 - 3 score. Jango, bringing their ball possession to 54 percent, seemed most ambitious today.

Jango's Fernando Tafur had a great game and was congratulated by his team mates. This lad could be going places! The coach took Francisco Manuel Pérez aside after the game, telling him it is okay to have a bad day on the pitch as long as you keep trying. The coach of Göztepe was especially pleased with Bahtiyar Ethem after the game. Kerem Gözay showed he still has a lot to learn.
