BBE 1 - 2 Bejbunar

It had been raining for hours, but parents and siblings didn't have much choice - 26 of them had gathered at Brunei Eagles Nest to cheer for their boys. For strong, physical players the heavy rain was easy to overcome, it was even an advantage given their style of play. Others, such as the quick or technical ones, made bleaker appearances. The lucky starting players: bin Aziz Sulaiman - bin Zulkarnain, Da Ze, Su Jian, bin Jaffar - 如达 (Ruda), bin Hj Jalut, bin Hj Nokman, Kwang Qiang, Chi Jun - Kim Puay.

The boys who got to play today were: Mandilov - Jovchev, Petkoski, Bekarovski, Shurdovski - Damoni, Kiprijanovski, Mileski, Damjanovski, Avramov - Dhimitri.

4-5-1 was the choice of the day for both coaches. BBE seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. Bejbunar showed off their creative tactics. It was 1 - 0 as Mile Avramov tried to get rid of the ball, but cleared the ball in the wrong direction - past his own goalkeeper. Good thing you are young, boys, in time you will be on speaking terms again. Bejbunar appeared uncertain how to play and their organisation was only passable. After 33 minutes, Kwok Kwang Qiang found the key to the opposing defence and worked himself into position for a shot. BBE nearly increased their lead there, but in the end the strike was denied by Emilijan Mandilov between the posts. 冯 (Feng) 如达 (Ruda) nearly extended his teams lead after 36 minutes of the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but Emilijan Mandilov managed to get a fingertip to it and deflect it round the post. Bejbunar had been told to go on the counterattack now and then, but when they did, Arianit Damoni's shot sailed wide on the right. Hristijan Mileski made a run towards goal after 38 minutes but the home team's far left defence obstructed him and the ball bounced safely into touch. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, BBE's Mail bin Hj Nokman got himself booked. Mile Avramov came close to levelling the score after 41 minutes, as he was set up with a through ball coming in from the left, but his shot hit the post. Zvezdan Bekarovski of Bejbunar received a yellow card after 42 minutes for arguing with the referee. It was 1 - 0 at the break. BBE, bringing their ball possession to 56 percent, seemed most ambitious today.

The Bejbunar players spent the break at the feet of their coach, contemplating the mistakes they'd made so far. It helped them reach solid organisation when the match kicked off again. Boris Kiprijanovski sent the corner into the box and from the big heap of players that struggled to reach it Alekso Shurdovski emerged victorious, heading it narrowly past the keeper. 1 - 1! The coach of Bejbunar was embarrassed to see his players fail the tactical setup. Many played out of position and the organisation level of the team dropped to passable. The guests took the initiative 68 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in Alekso Shurdovski scoring the 1 - 2 goal. BBE's Zainin bin Jaffar was shown a yellow card after 78 minutes for using his elbow in an aerial duel with an opposing player. Lacking experience with the current tactics, the players of Bejbunar kept running into each other on the pitch. They only managed a passable level of organisation. Akim bin Hj Jalut rushed from deep after 80 minutes of the game had gone. He received a perfectly timed pass in the area, but at the last moment, one of the visitors' defenders got a foot in and warded it off for a corner. As the match wraps up the score is 1 - 2. BBE didn't seem to want to give the ball away in this half, which resulted in 56 percent of the possession.

BBE's Kok Chi Jun had a great game and was congratulated by his team mates. This lad could be going places! Serbini bin Aziz Sulaiman left the field with tears in his eyes, knowing he had been the worst player on his team. The Bejbunar players gave Dobromir Damjanovski a group hug after the game, claiming he'd been "really great". The coach took Vojdan Petkoski aside after the game, telling him it is okay to have a bad day on the pitch as long as you keep trying.
