SFC 4 - 3 NKD

The 288 spectators at Satdium were roasting in the hot sun. The intense heat made it hard for players relying on strength or speed to shine. On the other hand, it provided perfect conditions for the more technical players. The lucky starting players: Robev - Spaseski, Trajchov, Tešić - Manevski, Anastasovski, Naunov, Lamaj, Kantardziev - Vanevski, Lepchevski.

The picks for today were: Bernik - Kapel, Hočevar, Dolinar - Kancilija, Pirc, Kokošin, Homšek, Vrhunc - Krajnčič, Tušek.

As the teams spread out over the pitch, it became clear that they would both be using a 3-5-2 formation today. SFC has a few interesting new players, and Fidan Lepchevski is one of them. Following a chip in from the left side, he hammered the ball straight into the arms of Luka Bernik. Cane Vanevski made his way into the box from the right flank, but couldn't open the scoring for SFC - the shot was deflected away for a throw in off a defender. After 19 minutes, NKD's Nik Kokošin made his way through the middle and cheekily placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. After 28 minutes of play, Alekso Anastasovski scored for SFC. He came through the middle and levelled the score, 1 - 1. After 29 minutes, the home side made it all the way up the right wing to score. Ognen Naunov supplied the finish, receiving the ball on his chest and knocking it in for 2 - 1, giving his team the lead. Dejan Vrhunc showed off the tattoo on his rear after scoring the 2 - 2 equaliser after 31 minutes after some good work on the right. That's a bit childish, really - he would surely never have dared pull a stunt like that in a home game. 2 - 2 was the score after the first half. NKD pleased their coach greatly, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.

The hardy few who followed the home team breathed a collective sigh of relief when Miha Homšek stumbled on the ball after his attack from the left in the 47:th minute. This eliminated his chance to give the visitors the go-ahead goal. After 57 minutes SFC's Dragan Tešić won some bragging rights for the schoolyard. He found his way through the guests' central defence, and put the ball in for 3 - 2 - right between the legs of the keeper! Tane Spaseski should probably have put his team up another goal after 61 minutes, but Luka Bernik made a confident save and kept the visitors in the game. NKD levelled the score after 82 minutes at 3 - 3, as Dejan Vrhunc found himself in the clear down the middle following a nice midfield combination. How nice - that will be a memory for life! Ognen Naunov was the target for the corner kick, but his deflection was blocked by the keeper. However, SFC's Cane Vanevski happened to be in the right place for the rebound and scored the 4 - 3 goal as a result. The match ends with a 4 - 3 score. This half the NKD boys hung on to the ball, with 51 percent of possession.

Cane Vanevski performed especially well for SFC - this one could be a candidate for the senior squad one day. The coach took Mirche Robev aside after the game, telling him it is okay to have a bad day on the pitch as long as you keep trying. NKD's Miha Homšek had a great game and was congratulated by his team mates. This lad could be going places! On the other hand, Luka Bernik's performance hadn't been very good at all.
