O boys 6 - 0 MKKL

Weather conditions were pretty good for football, and the lads were happy to see 173 people gathered to see their game at O boys arena. The lucky starting players: Nikiforovski - Chonevski, Bejkovski - Damjanov, Deren, Kartal, Frchkovski, Bogatinov - Tafi, Muratovski, Ukëmema.

The coach fielded the following talents: Zitzl - Pişkin, Trett, Scharenberg, Serafidis, Pallua - Hofmiller - Ulvenberg, Schreivogl, Liesicke.

The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team FC Great boys yunior went for 2-5-3 while Muh-Kuh Kids Langwied has decided to play a 5-1-3 lineup. Hoping for a few breakaways today, O boys would today focus on counterattack offense. MKKL would use their insights from a recent counterattack practice session in today's game. As the 1 minute approached, the MKKL coach decided it was time for a substitution. Netos Serafidis reluctantly made way for Erik Spahr on the pitch. MKKL appeared uncertain how to play and their organisation was only poor. 18 minutes in, the referee awarded a penalty to O boys. Simeon Frchkovski did a rather silly run-up to confuse the goalkeeper, but it worked! That's 1 - 0, would you believe it! O boys's Simeon Frchkovski was the happiest boy in town after the 2 - 0 goal, having seen his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper and into the net. The assist had come in from a mate out on the right wing. After 32 minutes, David Chonevski found the key to the opposing defence and worked himself into position for a shot. O boys nearly increased their lead there, but in the end the strike was denied by Brix Zitzl between the posts. There was great disorder in the penalty box following a corner, with David Chonevski wasting several opportunities to score. At last, O boys's Lazar Muratovski was able to shove the ball in. 3 - 0. O boys extended their lead to 4 - 0. The boy of the moment was Kahraman Kartal, who protected the ball well as he jinked in from the left side to find space for the finish. The referee confirmed the score as 4 - 0 when he signalled for the halftime break. In this half O boys were the most energetic, keeping the ball to themselves for 81 percent of the time.

A quick review of the game plan helped MKKL get back to a passable organisation. The bench was restless, and in the 46 minute the coach gave Reiner Stegerwald the opportunity the player had been hoping for. Marc Trett reluctantly left the field. In the 49:th minute, the MKKL coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. Peter-Franz Irrgang came on, Niclas Liesicke had to leave the fray. O boys wanted more goals, and one nearly came as Spiro Bogatinov received a cross from the right and unleashed a volley wide of the mark after 67 minutes. A counterattack by MKKL after 68 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but Albert Joachim Schreivogl, coming in on the left, lost his wits and couldn't get the shot off. MKKL did not seem very confident about what to do on the pitch, the organisation level having broken down to weak. You can't but feel a little sorry for the boy supposed to be marking Spiro Bogatinov. Using his speed, he rounded the defenders and sent a great pass to Aleksandar Damjanov who nailed it in for O boys. 5 - 0! Did someone forget the pre-match briefing today? The MKKL lads didn't seem to have a clue what to do, and their organisation level dropped to poor. O boys added one goal to their lead as Eris Tafi tucked the ball in the net, 6 - 0. He received the ball from the left, turned and then scored. O boys's Zlatko Bejkovski had an excellent opportunity after 85 minutes, receiving a through pass from the right wing that became a dangerous shot at goal! MKKL had a decent opportunity to score following a counterattack after 86 minutes, but Nico Ulvenberg's shot from the left sailed high over the bar. The match ends 6 - 0. O boys pleased their coach greatly, as they maintained 80 percent of possession.

The O boys players gave Lazar Muratovski a group hug after the game, claiming he'd been "really great". On the other hand, Zlatko Bejkovski's performance hadn't been very good at all. Mustafa Pişkin performed especially well for MKKL - this one could be a candidate for the senior squad one day. The coach took Erik Spahr aside after the game, telling him it is okay to have a bad day on the pitch as long as you keep trying.
