Can Jr 1 - 5 KYT

A group of 230 people showed up at Brixton Academy, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. The lucky starting players: Erişkin - Dimov, Stojkovski, Dilo, Chupevski, Cajić - Panevski, Gareski - Puca, Çoba, Dzikovski.

Starters: Pékó - Kazári, Biró - Kóczián, Nagy, Stevanyik, Meskó, Kocsis - Mózsi, Halmos, Borsics.

Canarian juniors started the game in a 5-2-3 formation, whereas Kispest Youth Team lined up in a 2-5-3 formation. Can Jr would use their insights from a recent counterattack practice session in today's game. KYT seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. Showing maturity beyond his years, Róbert Halmos hit home 0 - 1 for KYT after challenging the opposition defence at a critical moment. 17 minutes into the match, a well-timed pass from the left side gave Márió Borsics, of KYT, an open road to the goal. Seconds later the score was 0 - 2. Having taken a hard knock between his legs, Zenun Dilo limped off the pitch in a reduced state of dignity. He could not continue, managing only 18 minutes for his team this day. The player that took his place was Mihail Prodanov. A counterattack by Can Jr after 21 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but Luka Chupevski, coming in on the left, lost his wits and couldn't get the shot off. The away team's Róbert Halmos took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 29 minutes, increasing KYT's lead to 0 - 3. Iván Mózsi of KYT attempted a long shot after 31 minutes. It had plenty of power but was lacking in accuracy and it flew miles over the bar. Can Jr had a good opportunity to convert a counterattack after 32 minutes, but Abedin Puca's attempt to finish was easily stopped. Krste Dzikovski was in no condition to play on. He left the field limping after 35 minutes, with his left thigh bandaged. Damjan Garevski tried to hide a smile as he entered the field. He had not expected to get a chance this day. The game had been on for 36 minutes when Barnabás Meskó advanced to the right, rounded the defence and slammed in the 0 - 4 goal for KYT. 0 - 4 was the score after the first half. In this half KYT were the most energetic, keeping the ball to themselves for 76 percent of the time.

Abedin Puca suddenly found himself completely free on the right wing, when a counterattack by Can Jr caught their opponents by surprise. Only a great save by their promising keeper prevented him from scoring. A penalty was called for 55 minutes into the game, to the dismay of the local coach. KYT's Krisztián Biró made no mistake, and the boys of the home team started looking more and more gloomy. 0 - 5 for the visitors. Counterattacks from Can Jr tested the opposition defence, and eventually young Damjan Garevski was rewarded for his constant runs down the right side of the field. He charged into the box and slotted the ball into the net. 1 - 5. KYT were so determined to attack through the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. Pál Kocsis came close to extending the visitors' lead, when after a long ball through the middle he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal and, almost in shock, lifted the ball over Burak Erişkin. It went well clear of the bar. At the final whistle, the score is 1 - 5. KYT, bringing their ball possession to 75 percent, seemed most ambitious today.

The spectators agreed that the most impressive boy in Can Jr today had been Branko Cajić. Burak Erişkin needs a lot of extra training, however. KYT's Iván Mózsi had a great game and was congratulated by his team mates. This lad could be going places! Nándor Pékó showed he still has a lot to learn.
