mls 0 - 4 Skaut

It was an exceptionally sunny day for the parents of the boys, and the friends they had persuaded along to soncina - the total attendance came out to around 226 persons. It was a sunny day and the technical players could roll the ball around with ease. Those that had to chase after the ball found the weather less appealing, it especially stymied the game of Powerful and Quick players. Starters: Dimev - Ordev, Saraginov, Sajkovski, Gami, Burchevski - Trifunović, Kabashi, Zemanaj - Trendafilovski.

The coach fielded the following talents: Tomanovski - Velkoski, Paneski - Gochev, Topalli, Živković, Gugulevski, Kezarov - Vasili, Bojkovski, Davitkovski.

The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team mladi sonca went for 5-3-1 while FC Skaut U-19 has decided to play a 2-5-3 lineup. Given a free kick at a sharp angle, Skaut went for a variation that loyal fans may recognise from training. A sideways passing move pulled the defence out of position and let Tashe Paneski slip through on goal. No hesitation - and it's 0 - 1, 27 minutes into the game. After 31 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Hristijan Bojkovski who increased Skaut's lead to 0 - 2. After 33 minutes, whilst the home crowd were discussing who parked their vehicle in the wrong spot, Rade Velkoski charged up the middle and forced the keeper to make one of his best saves of the day. 35 minutes had elapsed when mls nearly reduced, but the celebratory cry of Jane Trendafilovski was interrupted by a last second clearance by the defence. The coach of mls was embarrassed to see his players fail the tactical setup. Many played out of position and the organisation level of the team dropped to poor. mls almost scored after a counterattack after 39 minutes, but young Vladimir Trifunović took a shot from the left that landed harmlessly in the side of the net. After 40 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed Aco Kezarov to get through. He made the home side's keeper look like the rookie he is, and added another goal for the visitors. 0 - 3. It was 0 - 3 at the break. In this half Skaut were the most energetic, keeping the ball to themselves for 55 percent of the time.

The mls players spent the break at the feet of their coach, contemplating the mistakes they'd made so far. It helped them reach passable organisation when the match kicked off again. Skaut had been told to go on the counterattack now and then, but when they did, Evion Vasili's shot sailed wide on the right. Did someone forget the pre-match briefing today? The mls lads didn't seem to have a clue what to do, and their organisation level dropped to passable. Skaut's Panche Gugulevski received a play slashing through the home side's central defence after 58 minutes, and chipped it past the keeper to score the 0 - 4 goal. The loyal few along the sidelines were not pleased with that one. Gjoko Gochev could have extended his team's lead in the 62:th minute, but his ambitious left side rush didn't help much since it was finished off by a lame cross to the keeper. Lacking experience with the current tactics, the players of mls kept running into each other on the pitch. They only managed a inadequate level of organisation. At the final whistle, the score is 0 - 4. This half the Skaut boys hung on to the ball, with 56 percent of possession.

mls's Jane Trendafilovski had a great game and was congratulated by his team mates. This lad could be going places! Vlado Dimev showed he still has a lot to learn. Gligor Davitkovski performed especially well for Skaut - this one could be a candidate for the senior squad one day. Panche Gugulevski needs a lot of extra training, however.
