Shark 0 - 1 Göztepe

It had been a rainy day, and no more than 26 were scattered around PACIFIC BLUE to see the game. The wet pitch made it difficult for technical or quick players to stand out. For once, the players relying on physical strength gained the upper hand. The boys who got to play today were: Carniani - Irrera, Tropea - Sambo, Vignolini, Mureddu, Prezzi - Natoli, Basso Ricci.

The picks for today were: Öner - Sarı, Aykul, Algül, Ongay, Fedai - Hasene, Süergin, Menşur, Tula, Zerka -.

Shark Attack started the game in a 2-4-2 formation, whereas Göztepe PAF lined up in a 5-5-0 formation. Göztepe displayed their ability to play creatively. Shark appeared uncertain how to play and their organisation was only weak. 23 minutes into the game, Engin Aykul had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his inept kick from the left went wide. After 34 minutes Göztepe's Cemcan Menşur was out wide on the left, where he found himself unchallenged and able to receive a fine through pass. The keeper came towards him, but not quick enough to cut the attacker off completely. 0 - 1 for the visitors. 0 - 1 was the score after the first half. This half the Göztepe boys hung on to the ball, with 52 percent of possession.

A quick review of the game plan helped Shark get back to a passable organisation. Lacking experience with the current tactics, the players of Shark kept running into each other on the pitch. They only managed a inadequate level of organisation. The coach of Shark was embarrassed to see his players fail the tactical setup. Many played out of position and the organisation level of the team dropped to poor. The match ends 0 - 1. Göztepe, bringing their ball possession to 53 percent, seemed most ambitious today.

The spectators agreed that the most impressive boy in Shark today had been Gino Sambo. Roberto Mureddu showed he still has a lot to learn. Göztepe's Cemcan Menşur had a great game and was congratulated by his team mates. This lad could be going places! Bülent Fedai left the field with tears in his eyes, knowing he had been the worst player on his team.
