Perla 5 - 7 Apashe

Weather conditions were pretty good for football, and the lads were happy to see 29 people gathered to see their game at Abfalleimer. The picks for today were: Ruhrpott - Drahos, Moristeig, Gleichmann - Rumpel, Goltze, Schnurbein, Deuten - Vurgun, Pfürdt, Woesch.

The coach fielded the following talents: Gjyli - Dzadzovski, Bozadziski - Stojcheski, Beqaj, Stamenkovski, Demaqi, Angelovski - Popovski, Ilioski, Bundalevski.

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 3-4-3 formation while the visitors instead opted for 2-5-3. Perla demonstrated their creative tactics on the field. Apashe decided to play creatively. The Perla boys gained the lead after 22 minutes of the game: 1 to 0. Rudolph Schnurbein made that look simple with a half-volley shot just below the bar from the centre of the goal area. All square again as the visitors put away the 1 - 1 after 23 minutes. Andrej Dzadzovski came in from the right, reached a rebound and blasted it in. Very determined - seldom you see that in a teenager. Petar Popovski charged through the defensive line after 24 minutes and despite almost losing his balance due to a harsh tackle, he still managed to squeeze the ball in. 1 - 2 was the new score for the visiting team. Perla's Mutbrecht Goltze made a successful breakthrough attempt 25 minutes into the game and should have levelled the score after some good work down the right, but instead he clipped it over the bar. After 30 minutes, Perla's Otto Pfürdt got hold of a ball in the middle of the pitch in front of the keeper and flicked it in. This evened up the score to 2 - 2. Perla grabbed the initiative after 32 minutes, as Franklin Deuten cut in from the right and, with some luck, shoved the ball in for 3 - 2. The visitors' Ladan Beqaj got some well deserved attention after that furious rush on the left side, leading to the 3 - 3 equaliser 33 minutes into the match. The referee confirmed the score as 3 - 3 when he signalled for the halftime break. In this half Apashe were the most energetic, keeping the ball to themselves for 53 percent of the time.

Perla almost seemed to have a working tactic this day, purposefully working their way up the right of the field with passes and clever runs. After 52 minutes, Winfried Rumpel got the opening he needed, overtaking an off-balance defender and sealing the 4 - 3 goal for the lead. Look at Ladan Beqaj of Apashe go! He lost his marker and picked out Mihail Ilioski who had no problem scoring from close range! 4 - 4 goal. After 60 minutes Perla's Eckehart Gleichmann won some bragging rights for the schoolyard. He found his way through the guests' central defence, and put the ball in for 5 - 4 - right between the legs of the keeper! The home team will have bad dreams about Blagoja Angelovski for months; there was something provocative about the way he outsmarted the defenders there, one falling over in the process, and scored the equaliser. A stunning goal from the left hand side of the area has made it 5 - 5 after 63 minutes. Manesh Demaqi's quick little feet overtook Daniel Drahos and suddenly Apashe had a golden opportunity to score! Said and done: 5 - 6. Mihail Ilioski could have made a name for himself when he, after 69 minutes, almost extended the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball looped into the middle, but the home side's keeper Sigismund Ruhrpott collected it. After 75 minutes, Daniel Drahos sped out from the right side of the field and was very close to equalising for the home side, but it just didn't work out. After 80 minutes, a defensive blunder enabled Apashe to put themselves up 5 - 7 following an attack from the right. The scorer was Blagoja Angelovski. As the match wraps up the score is 5 - 7. Apashe didn't seem to want to give the ball away in this half, which resulted in 53 percent of the possession.

Otto Pfürdt performed especially well for Perla - this one could be a candidate for the senior squad one day. The coach took Daniel Drahos aside after the game, telling him it is okay to have a bad day on the pitch as long as you keep trying. The spectators agreed that the most impressive boy in Apashe today had been Petar Popovski. Rade Bozadziski needs a lot of extra training, however.
