U17 1 - 5 MUK

198 people stood around Červeník aréna today, chatting about the horrible weather. The wet pitch made it difficult for technical or quick players to stand out. For once, the players relying on physical strength gained the upper hand. The coach fielded the following talents: Pachota - Bodzsár, Zábražný, Vasočák, Puchľak, Judák - Jasenský, Plahočík, Rajtík - Koltiška.

The picks for today were: Azemi - Necev, Faruku, Filiposki, Chupevski - Dzikov, Milenkovski, Lazami - Kontevski, Demollari, Lazarev.

U 17 cervenik entered the field in a 5-3-1 formation. The visitors, ManUtd Youngs, chose to start the game with a 4-3-3 lineup. U17 took the initiative 7 minutes into the game after a competent free kick by Marián Koltiška. 1 - 0. U17 appeared uncertain how to play and their organisation was only inadequate. All square again as the visitors put away the 1 - 1 after 18 minutes. Tarin Faruku came in from the right, reached a rebound and blasted it in. Very determined - seldom you see that in a teenager. MUK's Angele Lazarev took a knock to the head after 20 minutes, due to a badly executed header. He took a few uneasy steps, but got dizzy and then taken off the field. Stevo Manasievski tried to hide a smile as he entered the field. He had not expected to get a chance this day. A mistake by the kids playing central defence allowed Erik Lazami to score the 1 - 2 goal for MUK after 21 minutes. U17 did not seem very confident about what to do on the pitch, the organisation level having broken down to weak. Dobromir Dzikov worked his way down the wing, spotted Zafir Kontevski and set his MUK mate up for the 1 - 3 goal. Impressive - you rarely see him missing those headers. The referee confirmed the score as 1 - 3 when he signalled for the halftime break. This part of the game was a standoff between the teams.

A quick review of the game plan helped U17 get back to a passable organisation. After 53 minutes, MUK scored as Dobromir Dzikov's dangerous low cross was cleverly tucked in at the near post by Stevo Manasievski. 1 - 4. A haphazard combination through the middle gave MUK's Tarin Faruku a decent chance to increase the lead, and he did not disappoint. The score after 83 minutes was therefore 1 - 5. MUK looked like a proper team as they worked their way up the left side after 84 minutes, ending with an unsuccessful attempt at goal. Did someone forget the pre-match briefing today? The U17 lads didn't seem to have a clue what to do, and their organisation level dropped to weak. Zafir Kontevski could have made a name for himself when he, after 87 minutes, almost extended the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball looped into the middle, but the home side's keeper Filip Pachota collected it. The match ends 1 - 5. This half the U17 boys hung on to the ball, with 51 percent of possession.

U17's Marián Koltiška had a great game and was congratulated by his team mates. This lad could be going places! On the other hand, Filip Pachota's performance hadn't been very good at all. The spectators agreed that the most impressive boy in MUK today had been Stevo Manasievski. Boris Chupevski needs a lot of extra training, however.
