SBStar 1 - 5 YMORF

217 people were spread out along the sidelines of 云龙湖, the decent weather leading to fine conditions for football. The picks for today were: 泉梁 (Quanliang) - 家秋 (Jiaqiu), 昌祥 (Changxiang), 偌复 (Ruofu), 保笙 (Baosheng), 康文 (Kangwen) - 二牛 (Erniu), 子强 (Ziqiang), 英慈 (Yingci), 敬翊 (Jingyi), 若鑫 (Ruoxin) -.

The lucky starting players: Ben-Yaacov - Akselrod, Rup - Salmawy, Elituv, Biton, Lancry, Tiran - Alal, Svyatenko, Bronstein.

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 5-5-0 formation while the visitors instead opted for 2-5-3. SBStar took a creative approach on the field. YMORF showed off their creative tactics. Did someone forget the pre-match briefing today? The SBStar lads didn't seem to have a clue what to do, and their organisation level dropped to weak. The coach of SBStar was embarrassed to see his players fail the tactical setup. Many played out of position and the organisation level of the team dropped to weak. A mistake by the kids playing central defence allowed Nehorai Akselrod to score the 0 - 1 goal for YMORF after 13 minutes. SBStar almost scored after a counterattack after 16 minutes, but young 胡 (Hu) 若鑫 (Ruoxin) took a shot from the left that landed harmlessly in the side of the net. Given a free kick in a difficult position after 18 minutes, SBStar tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. With youthful enthusiasm, Yom Tov Tiran dribbled past his markers on the right and increased the visitors' lead to 0 - 2. The home players' parents couldn't believe their eyes as Malik Salmawy came in from the right, shooting hard to score 32 minutes into the game. YMORF were now up 0 - 3. At the halftime break, the score was 0 - 3. YMORF, bringing their ball possession to 56 percent, seemed most ambitious today.

A quick review of the game plan helped SBStar get back to a solid organisation. Hezi Lancry came close to extending the visitors' lead, when after a long ball through the middle he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal and, almost in shock, lifted the ball over 郭 (Guo) 泉梁 (Quanliang) . It went well clear of the bar. SBStar's 杜 (Du) 敬翊 (Jingyi) took a knock to the head after 48 minutes, due to a badly executed header. He looked wobbly for a second, but eventually just laughed it off and continued playing. 林 (Lin) 子强 (Ziqiang) got a big group hug from his SBStar team mates after creating the 1 - 3 goal all by himself. With perfect timing, he intercepted a pass and struck it in off the post. After 66 minutes, YMORF's Yom Tov Tiran careened through the central defenders and was just able to get off a shot for the 1 - 4 goal before being brought down by his marker. After 71 minutes, the visitors put themselves ahead 1 - 5 as Osher Bronstein deflected a misplaced long shot from the left into the goal. Did that come off his backside? 林 (Lin) 子强 (Ziqiang) went down after twisting his left ankle in minute 78, but was able to continue the match none the less. The match ends with a 1 - 5 score. In this half YMORF were the most energetic, keeping the ball to themselves for 52 percent of the time.

The coach of SBStar was especially pleased with 林 (Lin) 子强 (Ziqiang) after the game. 张 (Zhang) 二牛 (Erniu) showed he still has a lot to learn. The spectators agreed that the most impressive boy in YMORF today had been Raanan Alal. The coach took Nissan Ben-Yaacov aside after the game, telling him it is okay to have a bad day on the pitch as long as you keep trying.
