FK MMJ 1 - 0 junci

The weather was decent, and some 28 people were interested enough in the game to visit Mara Meadow today. The boys who got to play today were: Kushnir - Tryfanau, Lepenkov - Ragoza, Halouczyk, Lakavets, Zazulevich, Sibirtsau - Vareika, Bak, Silich.

The coach fielded the following talents: Prchkovski - Lukarovski, Naumov, Matanović, Cekov - Trendafilov, Arllati, Dzolev - Malko, Stanchevski, Nikolovski.

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 2-5-3 formation while the visitors instead opted for 4-3-3. The boys of junci entered the field trying to put a pressing tactic into practice. FK MMJ had a chance to take the lead on Viachaslau Sibirtsau's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled away as his shot went just over the bar 3 minutes into the match. Did someone forget the pre-match briefing today? The junci lads didn't seem to have a clue what to do, and their organisation level dropped to solid. FK MMJ were eager to get ahead in the game and after 9 minutes Viachaslau Sibirtsau cut in from the right to unleash a shot that almost ended up in the net. Lacking experience with the current tactics, the players of junci kept running into each other on the pitch. They only managed a passable level of organisation. FK MMJ came through on the left side with 33 minutes of play passed, and the attack ended as Yuriy Lepenkov gave the home side a 1 - 0 lead with a shot from a very narrow angle. At the halftime break, the score was 1 - 0. In this half FK MMJ were the most energetic, keeping the ball to themselves for 65 percent of the time.

junci's coach repeated the basics of football tactics during the break, which helped his players achieve solid organisation afterwards. The FK MMJ players could smell victory in the air. Danila Bak wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Prohar Luchko in the 46:th minute. Content with how the game was proceeding, the FK MMJ coach let Pavel Malevinskiy replace Dzianis Vareika after 46 minutes. The junci lads worked hard to prevent the opponents creative efforts. Not pretty, but effective. Around 67 minutes into the match, Flokart Arllati used his impressive physique to maintain complete control over his defensive midfield. This caused an FK MMJ attack to fizzle out with a whimper. Aliaksandar Ragoza went down after twisting his right ankle after 75 minutes, and had to leave the pitch. The replacement for the injured player was Svyatoslav Gurov. 76 minutes into the game, Flokart Arllati broke up a promising FK MMJ attack single-handedly, using just the right amount of physical pressure on the ball holder. Still trailing on the score board, junci adjusted their tactics after 82 minutes. Zlate Trendafilov had a quick chat at the side line, then switched positions with Dimche Stanchevski. The bench was restless, and in the 83 minute the coach gave Borislav Oncheski the opportunity the player had been hoping for. Vlade Nikolovski reluctantly left the field. The match ends with a 1 - 0 score. FK MMJ, bringing their ball possession to 65 percent, seemed most ambitious today.

Andrej Silich performed especially well for FK MMJ - this one could be a candidate for the senior squad one day. Svyatoslav Gurov showed he still has a lot to learn. The spectators agreed that the most impressive boy in junci today had been Borislav Oncheski. The coach took Petre Dzolev aside after the game, telling him it is okay to have a bad day on the pitch as long as you keep trying.
