RWY 1 - 3 O boys

Due to the fairly good weather for football today, 164 spectators have come down to Waaskantje. The coach fielded the following talents: Claus - Van Suetendael, Weyns, Verstraete - Wakifi, Verstuyft, Rubatscher, Craeye - Keyene, Vertonghen, Alkemade.

The picks for today were: Nikiforovski - Bejkovski, Muratovski - Kartal, Deren, Oka, Frchkovski, Konevski - Chonevski, Ukëmema, Nichev.

Royal Waas Youth started the game in a 3-4-3 formation, whereas FC Great boys yunior lined up in a 2-5-3 formation. Hoping for a few breakaways today, O boys would today focus on counterattack offense. David-Jan Keyene almost gave the home side the lead after 7 minutes. The finishing shot went just wide, though. After 9 minutes O boys's Siljan Konevski was out wide on the left, where he found himself unchallenged and able to receive a fine through pass. The keeper came towards him, but not quick enough to cut the attacker off completely. 0 - 1 for the visitors. Ilias Vertonghen was just a finger's breadth away from an equaliser for RWY, but Marjan Nikiforovski managed to deflect the shot from the right hand side of the penalty box out for a corner. After 21 minutes of play, Pieter Verstuyft scored for RWY. He came through the middle and levelled the score, 1 - 1. O boys nearly took the initiative in the game at this point, but Niek Claus anticipated Hayko Deren's half-volley well enough to tip it away. It was 1 - 1 at the break. In this half O boys were the most energetic, keeping the ball to themselves for 52 percent of the time.

With youthful energy, O boys's David Chonevski sped past Paul-Guillaume Verstraete in minute 57 and made a decent finish, but it was blocked. The guests almost went up by a goal in the 70:th minute when Dasaret Ukëmema came through from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though. Kiril Nichev nearly put the visiting team one up in the 76th minute, following an optimistic solo raid down the middle, but Niek Claus stretched far enough to tip the ball to a corner. RWY's Lars Alkemade tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but kept getting stopped by the visitors' defenders. When David Chonevski wants to, he can really shift! After 83 minutes he left his marker for dead. He could do with some target practice though - his shot went miles wide. The referee noted down 1 - 2 as the new score after 85 minutes. O boys's Dasaret Ukëmema had cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal. 86 minutes into the game, O boys were awarded a penalty and Simeon Frchkovski was able to increase the visitors' lead to 1 - 3 after a firm, low, uncomplicated kick. As the match wraps up the score is 1 - 3. O boys didn't seem to want to give the ball away in this half, which resulted in 52 percent of the possession.

The spectators agreed that the most impressive boy in RWY today had been Ilias Vertonghen. Pieter Verstuyft needs a lot of extra training, however. The coach of O boys was especially pleased with Kiril Nichev after the game. On the other hand, Zlatko Bejkovski's performance hadn't been very good at all.
