It was a cloudy day at the stadium today. The following players took the field: Newton - Lowe, Kingsland, Judge, Branigan - Milner, Coakley, Brehon - Lloyd, Hindmarch, Turcott.

Lineup: Fonov - Carneiro, Agostinho, da Rocha, Martins - Fiećko, Raskin, Gonçalves - Napiórkowski, Clavijo, Kaznačejevas.

As the teams prepared to start the match, they both lined up in a 4-3-3 formation. Wanderers used their inadequate skill at pressing to cut off the attack angles of their opponents all over the field. Piedense immediately set off using their weak skill at pressing their opponents. They were singing the praises of Wesley Kingsland 2 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Wanderers. 17 minutes in, Piedense appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only passable. Wanderers's Darren Coakley saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 18 minutes. Wanderers's Craig Hindmarch was shown a yellow card after 21 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Pompeu Agostinho received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 25 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. Wanderers managed to extend their lead to 2 - 0 when Craig Hindmarch cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. David Milner unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. Wanderers's ability to press all over the field frequently paid dividends. The pressing tactics used by Wanderers were successful as the ball remained close to the half way line at all times. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 0. Wanderers enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 70 percent of possession.

Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of Piedense was able to get his message across, and raised Piedense's organisation to solid. Wanderers's David Milner increased the lead to 3 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 70 minutes. After 71 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Wanderers found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to inadequate. A great save by keeper Sergey Fonov after 73 minutes kept the visitors in the game after Wallace Turcott struck from the left with a real cannonball. 76 minutes in, Piedense's Tautas Kaznačejevas received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Wanderers's Darren Coakley increasing the lead to 4 - 0. 84 minutes into the game, Piedense had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to weak. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 1 minute of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. Wanderers solidified their lead at the 89 minute mark, as Wallace Turcott dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 5 - 0. 89 minutes into the game, Wanderers seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a poor level of organisation. The match ends 5 - 0. Wanderers had most of the ball, with 68 percent of possession.

Wanderers's top performer was clearly Craig Hindmarch. Jacob Newton on the other hand, had a terrible day. Piedense's best player was Bruno Martins. On the other hand, Yerachmiel Raskin's play was disheartening.
