Antal Konrád made a run for the goal 16 minutes into the game but the home team's left back managed to sort the situation out in the end. With 29 minutes played, Kovács put themselves up 2 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to Tozé Borges, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Artur Sousa got himself booked. The manager of WBA was not happy. After 35 minutes Kovács's Zoltán Bódis contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. Csaba Mezei struck a 30 metre free kick home 37 minutes into the match. 3 - 0 for the home team. By now, the players in Kovács felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. WBA's Sándor Jakab was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box - Artur Sousa managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 3 - 1 after 38 minutes. Dávid Minarik should probably have put his team up another goal after 40 minutes after breaking through the middle, but some great goalkeeping by Kolos Bárány kept the visitors in the game. The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 1. Kovács claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 66 percent.

WBA kept trying to force their way through on the right side and Artur Sousa got his chance after 73 minutes, but the home side's defence held their position and stopped the attack. Krisztián Lónich received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 75 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. Coming from the right, Ábel Selendy almost managed to score another goal for Kovács, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. 84 minutes into the match Kovács's Dávid Minarik head butted an opponent nastily, and so the referee sent him off immediately. Kovács claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 71 percent.

The most dominating Kovács player was without a doubt Kálmán Láng. Zoltán Bódis was a disappointment, however. The most dominating WBA player was without a doubt Antal Mata. Reinaldo Gomes Bento on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 1.
