CRVENA 5 - 2 MUCH

Clear skies welcomed the 2093 spectators who had made their way to Belgrade Arena. Tibor Demeter was the appointed referee with assistance provided by and . The match took place on neutral ground. CRVENA tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: Mashiach - Juroš, Axinte, Yapwantha - Kobæk Larsen, Rheinheimer, Lloyd, Eça, Moshckovitz - Predojević, Bačković.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for MUCH. The following players had been chosen: Thérond - Wei-Wu, Groenendijk, Aeschimann - Drakulović, Adomat, Leposavić, Nonnoi, Duro - Milanić, Četnik.

Dror Mashiach would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Mirko Milić entered the game for CRVENA as the match clock showed 5 minutes. As the 5 minute mark approached, the CRVENA coach decided it was time for a substitution. Nicolae Axinte reluctantly made way for Slobodan Gavranić on the pitch. After 22 minutes, Mladen Juroš sent the corner kick right to Júlio Eça who headed it sharply past the keeper. 1 - 0! MUCH's right side looked dangerous 28 minutes in, but Mirko Milić made a good save on Dani Groenendijk's hard shot to the top corner. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of CRVENA to 2 - 0 as Ivica Bačković finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. After this, you could see that the players of CRVENA were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. With 42 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock, MUCH showed some good skill and were able to reduce the score to 2 - 1 when Aca Milanić got past the home side's central defenders right in front of the goal. With 44 minutes played, CRVENA put themselves up 3 - 1 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to Oliver Predojević, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. Johnny Dahl was called on to replace CRVENA's Ivica Bačković after 44 minutes following a nasty collision. CRVENA's Ravi Yapwantha increased the lead to 4 - 1, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 44 minutes. With 44 minutes played, Nikolaj Kobæk Larsen of CRVENA fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. It was 4 - 1 at the break. MUCH enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.

The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Luca Nonnoi from MUCH a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 56 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! CRVENA fans were dismayed when it was apparent no substitutes remained after Slobodan Gavranić's injury. CRVENA's Avishay Moshckovitz had an excellent opportunity after 67 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! 75 minutes into the match, MUCH replied and reduced the lead to 4 - 2. Aca Milanić scored on a marvellous cross pass coming in from the left. After 77 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and Oliver Predojević gave the CRVENA supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 5 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by MUCH, with 59 percent of the ball.

Nikolaj Kobæk Larsen performed admirably for CRVENA. Mirko Milić was a disappointment, however. Most important MUCH player was Aca Milanić. Fabrice Thérond on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 5 - 2.
