13057 spectators had come to Paolo Mazza this cloudy day. Sergio Raheiro was the appointed referee with assistance provided by and Hektoras Prazauskis. The head coach flashed hand signals from the sideline and VECCHIO formed up in a 3-5-2 combination. Let's hope the opposing sideline wasn't filming that. Lineup: Centrone - Carioca, Aresti, Šarközy - Baardman, Mattensohn, Friedenheim, Cordero, MacCarvill - Ingram, Zeisel.

Cry "havoc" and let loose the dogs of war! Rifredi will go to battle in a 3-5-2 formation. The following players took the field: Ibarburen - Oosthout, Monajati, Lorkowski - Öztanır, Kazimierczak, Gaspari, Balle Hansen, Sopalla - Sacco, Mariňák.

With 9 minutes played, J. Mattensohn came in from the right with the intention of giving VECCHIO the lead, but his rocket of a shot could only rattle the crossbar. Oh, it's a stupendous shot on goal! A Caravaggio! A Michaelangelo! A Venus on the Half Shell! 12 minutes into the match and M. Zeisel has created art for the ages for VECCHIO, putting them ahead 1 - 0. I'm weeping. I can't stop my eyes. Was it the hair gel? Was it a gift from the gods? Either way, the faithful won't care. Soaring like a Saturn V, T. Carioca somehow got his head on a D. MacCarvill moonshot from the corner and buried it in the back of the net. What grace! What power! Plant the flag for VECCHIO, Neil Armstrong! The score is now 2 - 0. Confident in their lead, VECCHIO's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. With 29 minutes played, Rifredi's K. Monajati pulled up limping after a savage, cowardly challenge. But he's not yet ready to shuffle off this mortal coil. He's staying in to play on. The valiant never taste of death but once! 2 - 0 was the halftime score. The Count appeared on the jumbotron and announced that VECCHIO had 53...53 percent possession. AH AH AH!

D. MacCarvill's curling free kick almost found the goal for VECCHIO, but the visitors' keeper somehow managed to get ahold of it. A great save by keeper J. Ibarburen with 60 minutes gone kept the visitors in the game after J. Cordero struck from the left with a real cannonball. With 69 minutes gone, a long pass from the defense of VECCHIO resulted in a counter-attack that set J. Baardman free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. The VECCHIO players could smell victory in the air. J. Mattensohn wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for K. Kurtyshev after 70 minutes. Content with how the game was proceeding, the VECCHIO coach let J. Júnior come on for J. Ingram after 70 minutes. The Rifredi players listened closely to their manager, as he gave new tactical instructions for the team. As the game started to slip away for Rifredi, the manager decided to change the tactical approach. 79 minutes into the game, VECCHIO seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a weak level of organization. 81 minutes in, Ľ. Mariňák made an incredible run up the middle and nearly reduced the home side's lead, but E. Centrone refused to let the ball slip by him. Rifredi set the tempo, maintaining 55 percent of possession.

The most outstanding VECCHIO player was without a doubt J. Júnior. Speaking of stinking up the place, K. Kurtyshev sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham. Rifredi's top performer was clearly J. Balle Hansen. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because J. Ibarburen seemed to stumble all over the pitch. The match ends 2 - 0.
