A scorching day at Jääketut Arena, where 1206 spectators were in place for today's match. was the appointed referee with assistance provided by and . Metsis tactics involved an interesting 5-5-0 combination. The following players took the field: Paatero - Aarresuo, Pakarinen, Ritari, Viiri, Kyttä - de Gier, Zetterner, Vihijärvi, Wittemberg, Zeijlmaker -.

Eksyneet decided to use a 5-4-1 set up. The following players had been chosen: Özlenen - Sinivuo, Iso-Ahola, Häggman, Masum, Säämänen - Korkiainen, Mircea, Linhall, Boet - Jin.

The strategy for Metsis was to use their weak ability to press. It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why Jussi Kyttä found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork. With 26 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of Eksyneet resulted in a counterattack that set Xavier Boet free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. A foul after 27 minutes resulted in a free kick. Veli Pakarinen cannonballed it, giving the home team the lead 1 - 0. Metsis had to make a substitution after 38 minutes. Brandon Zeijlmaker limped off the field and was replaced by Aapeli Perälä. 40 minutes in, Metsis appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only inadequate. Halftime score was 1 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Metsis, who controlled the ball 58 percent of the time.

Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of Metsis was able to get his message across, and raised Metsis's organisation to solid. The fierce heat made it important to save breath, and after a few swift runs Jan-Chris de Gier found it hard to get back into position. Metsis pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times. Eksyneet needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 60 minutes Xavier Boet made way for Mikael Klockars. The Eksyneet coach was desperate to reverse his team's fortunes in the game, and ordered his team to change strategy. A lot of people in the terraces claimed the penalty resulting in Eksyneet's Juha Korkiainen equaliser for 1 - 1 was a mistake by the referee. He did, however, have a very good view of the situation from his position. Even Nergård was called on to replace Metsis's Toni Viiri after 77 minutes following a nasty collision. Jussi Kyttä was handed the Metsis captain's armband. Metsis took the lead 79 minutes into the match after a magnificent free kick by Veli Pakarinen that made the score 2 - 1. Metsis put in a good effort on the right, but Juho Ritari saw his volley fly wide of the mark 82 minutes into the game. Metsis's Kalle Aarresuo was shown a yellow card after 83 minutes for slicing down an opponent. A loud groan was heard from the fans of Eksyneet, as Polat Masum left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. Enrique Miralles took his place on the field. Metsis had most of the ball, with 59 percent of possession.

Metsis's best player was Veikka Vihijärvi. Juho Ritari was a disappointment, however. Mikael Klockars performed admirably for Eksyneet. On the other hand, Eelis Häggman's play was disheartening. The match ends 2 - 1.
