Yarost 1 - 0 Bulgars

The 47599 fans in attendance at Bozenton were roasting in the hot sun. was the appointed referee with assistance provided by José Vila and Enrico Balestrieri. Yarost tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. They fielded: Stoyanov - Piterin, Di Giorgio, Varfolomeev, Dzhioev - Borup, Juwayri, Jurasz, Soon - Florentsen, Roa.

A 5-3-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Bulgars. Lineup: Abramkin - Martynyuk, Konorev, Kocman, Oğulbaş, Pypin - Turković, Szybilski, Dovgan - Alerić, Follmer.

Bulgars clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could, taking advantage of their world class level with that tactic. Yarost were very close to putting themselves one up after 2 minutes as Terkel Borup got through on the left. However, his concentration failed him, and he shot wide. Bulgars's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 5 minutes gone, but Zvonko Alerić's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. Bulgars's Tonko Turković got himself booked for a foul. Bulgars almost scored after a counterattack 35 minutes into the match, but Saygın Oğulbaş took a shot from the left that landed harmlessly in the side of the net. Klaudio Kocman couldn't do anything to stop the technically gifted Bjørn Florentsen as he dodged past on his way to scoring a wonderful goal for Yarost - 1 - 0! Gennady Abramkin was caught napping as Terkel Borup lifted a ball over him following a free kick, but the ball hit the bar, rebounding into the keeper's arms. It was 1 - 0 at the break. Yarost claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Bulgars's Zvonko Alerić was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 55 minutes. Rémi Cotard was given a chance to change things around. Unhappy with the result so far in the game, the Bulgars manager used a brief break in play after 55 minutes to give the players new directives. The bench was restless, and with 60 minutes passed Bulgars's coach gave Antonio Meira the opportunity the player had been hoping for. Rudolf Szybilski reluctantly left the field. The Yarost players could smell victory in the air. Cléber Roa wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for Jim Igelstad after 61 minutes. The Bulgars players listened closely to their manager, as he gave new tactical instructions for the team. As usual, Nadir Juwayri tried to use his strength and hard work for the benefit of the team, but the heat hit him hard and he couldn't keep pace at all. With the clock showing 88 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of Yarost resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by Davide Di Giorgio in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high. Possession in this half belonged to Bulgars, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.

Most important Yarost player was Feliks Jurasz. However, Terkel Borup made a disastrous appearance. Bulgars's top performer was clearly Andrey Dovgan. Klaudio Kocman turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 0.
