3161 spectators had come to Campus Killar Arena this cloudy day. was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jean-Luis Ferretti and Alexander Vogl. A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Campus. They fielded: Weerman - Idkowiak, Nørager - Öhrgård, Gotthult, Matsson, Eberwein, Killind - Falbeck, Gaúcho, Nilsson.

Escaldón had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. Lineup: Dunn - Peisl, Batlle, Carratalà, Camos - Feres, Praud, Susana, Vicente Soler, Arangio - Quellen.

Campus mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle, taking advantage of their supernatural level with that tactic. Escaldón were relying on their outstanding ability to counter-attack. With 2 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 1 - 0 lead as Olle Killind flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. After 12 minutes, Escaldón switched Ivo Feres with Agostinho André, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. 13 minutes into the match, the speedy Olle Killind easily outpaced Ursin Peisl, chipped the keeper and made the score 2 - 0. Confident in their lead, Campus's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Dininho Gaúcho left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 23 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. Richard Matsson was the replacement. Campus's Mats Gotthult swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. Escaldón's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 28 minutes gone, but Víctor Carratalà's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. Iván Vicente Soler of Escaldón received a yellow card after 31 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Campus were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. Cheers filled the stadium as Max Matsson broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 0 to Campus. The crowd was amused as Urtzi Arangio of Escaldón used a few interesting tricks and dribbles to get into the penalty box. The finish by Agostinho André wasn't very amusing, however, as the ball flew way over the crossbar. After 42 minutes, Escaldón's Urtzi Arangio surprised everyone as he managed to intercept a pass intended for the opposing keeper and flip it in, making the score 3 - 1. After 43 minutes, Campus's Cosimo Eberwein found the back of the goal with a beautiful free kick. 4 - 1. 43 minutes in, Campus's David Öhrgård received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. 4 - 1 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Campus, with 73 percent of the ball.

Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Escaldón's Tony Quellen was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 50 minutes. Zbigniew Klich was given a chance to change things around. Escaldón needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 59 minutes Samy Praud made way for Peer Bonde Nielsen. Eusebio Batlle was handed the Escaldón captain's armband. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Campus's Cosimo Eberwein increasing the lead to 5 - 1. Campus put themselves up 6 - 1 when Cosimo Eberwein broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. That made three goals for Cosimo Eberwein and he was marked down for the hat trick. Escaldón's Zbigniew Klich was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 71 minutes. The goal to make it 6 - 2 was scored by Peer Bonde Nielsen after 73 minutes, following an opportunistic counterattack down the middle by Escaldón. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Campus scored another to make it 7 - 2 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for Richard Matsson after 74 minutes. The home side's Richard Matsson came close to extending the lead 80 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but Steve Dunn managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. Possession in this half belonged to Campus, who controlled the ball 68 percent of the time.

Campus's best player was Richard Matsson. Olle Killind turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Escaldón player was Agostinho André. Ursin Peisl on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 7 - 2.
